Honestly this movie triggered me pretty hard.
it sucked after the third one, entirely. they stopped treating it as "evil dead is a horror movie, with an incidentally unintentionally funny protaganist" to "EVIL DEAD IS THIS WAAAAAAACKY COMEDY with horror">but army of darkness is totally silly!and it worked ONCE because the first two were HORROR FIRST and unintentional comedy second, and its essentially parodying itself.

The effects were good and a lot of the kills were fun, but it was in no way an Evil Dead movie. The deadites weren't even deadites, it was just like the characters contracted the virus from Crossed and gained an obsessions with a random knife.

It’s a French foreigners take on an Evil Dead adaptation. It’s suppose to be bleak as fuck, joyless and absolutely disgustingly brutal, just like how they make em’ over there. It is what it is.
