Most here are probably more like Harvey Pekar .
I have a movie group where we all get a chance to pick a movie for us all to watch every week and I kind of want to pick Crumb but I’m worried they’re gonna judge me
>>222781142If you're weird they're already judging you. If you're not, picking a weird movie won't change how they see you at all.
>>222781142Pick Fritz the Cat instead. Crumb hated the adaptation and your group will probably hate it too.
>>222781097I can't describe just how much this movie disgusted me.
>>222781169this is true. Past a certain age I learnt to lean into the weirdness because otherwise you're just wasting your time with socialising. THe people who already weren't sure about you will reveal themselves as hating you all along, and the people that already kind of like you will like you more. It's an accelerationist strategy and has served me well. You do not want to be in that limbo land of "do these people like me or not" for years. I was there and it was hell.
>>222781142He's a thick chick loving comic drawing weirdo.Everyone in a film group will love it and you'll prove yourself the chad of the beta group
>>222780940But you can't draw worth a shit. YOu're just a pervert.
>>222780940Great movie. Changed my life.>>222781142you sound like a pussy
>>222780940comfy movie but as an artist he fuckin sucks
>>222781704i'm working on it
Jumpin' Jack Flash and R. Crumb vs. The Sisterhood are two good proto-incel strips he did.
>>222781097Correct. I'd wager no one here has talent comparable to Crumb's in any respect, but i'd wager this board is full of guys who are just mediocre cranks, not exactly stupid but too autistic to behave normally
>>222780940Few artist perfectly capture why i love thick stocky women
>>222782915>supposed to be satire>ends up being a predictionCrumb is a retard.
>>222783874That's the point, retard. He wrote a bunch of shit that needed to pass off as satire because he would have gotten jailed. Back in the 60s and 70s his type of comics, the whole San Francisco underground, was labeled as communist and could be arrested for peddling "obscene material". Most of you guys don't even know he recently released a new comic called Tales of Paranoia that is literally another look into the future. Definitely one of his best essays/critiques of modern society in comic form.
>>222783736>I'd wager no one here has talent comparable to Crumb's in any respectHow much are you willing to wager?
