This movie is very good, it would've been perfect if they cut the girlfriend and the German commander taunting over the radio.

>Uboat surfaces to use its guns on the ships
>Uboats constantly talking to each other and their enemies
>>
>we've done so many ww2 films, we're down to slop about transport ships, black bitches who delivered the mail and the guy who did the weather report for D-Day
>>
>>222783978
I'll take your word for it. They never put it on DVD for me to watch.

>GUTEN TAG GREYHOOOOND I SEEEEE YOOOOUUU
Little much

yeah the weather thing is a huge stretch, i can't believe they've been pushing that movie so hard, but every single person involved in ww2 is getting their own movie
>>

To be fair, it was over for the Uboats as soon as sonar was invented.

I liked it but I'm a sucker for naval warfare. What was the name of the Tom Hanks movie with the ephedra chewing pirates? I liked that too and I thought I never need to watch another movie with Tom Hanks

>the German commander taunting over the radio.

I was not a fan of the German captain awooing as Tom Hanks.

what the flying fuck is that. of course u-boats weren't sailing in formation on combat patrols

In Saving Private Ryan when they enter the rainy French village in the beginning, the Germans are also taunting them on loudspeakers ( "the statue of liberty ist kaput...")
>>

Don't worry about it.
>>
It's one of those films that are utterly retarded but that I still enjoy.
>>
It has a rare quality of just focusing on the procedure of something's operation. We need more movies that do that. Particularly that's what I want from science fiction - give me a movie that is mostly a designed and realized space ship being operated and maintained with some character stories happening amidst it.

Still to do:
Photo reconnaissance plane pilot movie
Fairey Swordfish pilot movie
Catapult Aircraft Merchant ship movie
Albanian partisans and the SOE
OSS in Vietnam

To think we still haven't got a Jack Churchill movie
>>

The taunting would not have taken place from the boats themselves because triangulation. But a lot of kills, especially early war, did happen with the ack-ack. Mistake was not making it a 5 hour movie starting in the Split Crow in Halifax and ending wherever they made port in England. For those of yous who know how to read, read Sailors, Slackers, and Blind Pigs.
