Season 3 has been much lower in quality than 1 and 2.
Too many different plot points going on at once, like both South Africa and Afghanistan at the same time; and too many farfetched circumstances like Nina reuniting with her old boss in Russia.

Like, I'm supposed to believe the guy has:
>his day job
>his family
>his fake wife Martia
>also a relationship with the teenage girl
>all while doing the Afghanistan related mission
>all while also doing the South Africa related mission
>all while having meetings with the old KGB dude
>and still doing odd jobs here and there like the bugging at the FBI office and other stuff like informal meetings with the FBI neighbour

Like holy shit at which point are they going to stop and consider this is too much? Half of this shit is barely exploited. S1 and 2 were well paced and believable.

Are the next seasons like this or worse?

Amazing that 40 years ago repeating kremlin talking point would get you vanned and now it gets you elected

Stick with it. The final season is worth it just for the final confrontation in the parking garage.

Agreed. First season is my least favorite because no Oleg.

Did I ever watch this show? Asking for a friend.

For a show with such a stupid premise they have zero fun with it. Everyone is miserable all of the time and NOTHING HAPPENS in most episodes. Philip secret marrying that secretary and the wife going to Korean tupperware parties for an entire season made me drop the show.

I remember hating Oleg early on, but he might've been the only character to get better as the show went on. By the end the only people I didn't want to die were him and Phillip

He's actually growing on me as well. I think you're supposed to dislike him at first

I've not watched the show but why would a spy embedded in the US be used in either Angola or Afghanistan? I could buy it maybe as a backstory but wouldn't the KGB not take the risk of using the same guy when they had literally thousands of others to do those jobs? It sounds like the writers are trying to mush together every different department of Soviet intelligence as though the guys pretending to be Mr and Mrs Smith would also be in the GRU skinning Mujahideen alive for the location of Stingers.

They don't go to Afghanistan. They're trying to ruin the relationship Mujahideen have with the CIA so of which happens on US soil (that's the less beliveable part probably) while also trying to get info that could help over there

Keri Russell has a nice ass.

That's interesting, how do they do that? I'd think the go to would be an earlier 9/11 but I'm assuming the show isn't an alternate history thing so they don't succeed. If I had to write a story about Soviet spies in the US I would have it be similar to House of Cards stylistically and storywise, I'm guessing the Americans is it's own thing though by the sound of it.

The christian pastor arc really killed it for me
