The movie fundamentally did a bad job making him seem like the bad guy. No one wants to live the poor life and work hard every day. The movie never shows his victims, Jordan never gets his commupance other than still living a better life than most people instead of top 1%, and the government never helps anybody, just manages to arrest half the office after the damage is done and seize the assets for themselves (just like real life haha)
It didn't make him seem like anything. He has zero characterization in this movie.
