>ITT we talk about season 1, the best and only season
>>222784953
>>222784953Carcossa... Whatever happened there??
>>222784953Absolute kino but this always felt contrived. He should have been wearing green headphones while mowing, having paint on his ears was stupid.
>>222784953Season 1 is the best piece of television ever made HOWEVER season 2, whilst not being on the level of season 1, is pure kino and anyone who thinks other wise is a fag that's just going along with herd that bleats:>"season 1, the best and only season"
>>222785319Oh I don't know... it made sense to me, Marty.
>>222785319>He should have been wearing green headphones while mowingYeah now that you say that this would have made 100x more sense. Who the fuck gets paint only on their ears when painting anyways?
>>222784953>True Detective Season 1, the second seasonhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fIKFnzIcfcA
Lone Star beer sucks. Great season of kino.
Come die with me, little thread.
>>222785448if only you had been here for the live threads when season 2 premiered and its entire clusterfuck of a season>erasers clapping>buttfuck your father with your moms headless corpse>half anaconda, half great whiteif pizzapizzapizza hadnt included his self insert jab at fukunaga and had kept the occult transportation plotline he scrapped it would have been better. or had more variety than the same three songs
>>222786337Get a load of this guy wanting something snooty.
>>222784953How do you guys interpret the show's stance on the supernatural within its own canon? I.e., -was all of the eldritch shit "real", and not only were the protagonists facing up against a weird sex cult, but were genuine participants in an interdimensional struggle between good and evil or-it was all grounded in our world, and although good and evil exist, the cult and the detectives were ultimately just human actors acting within a human dimensionalso, how do you interpret rust's philosophy of time being a flat circle in light of the optimistic ending?
I still don't feel like the light's winning :/
>>222789434it is anon. it must.
>>222784953Unfortunately looking back true detective is sadly HBOslop, just loaded with gross disgusting places and imagery , cynicism and pessimism and as always they portray vice like smoking and drinking but make the characters doing it look thoughtful and cool so it can encourage the 20 year old white guys watching to cut their lifespan in half with the two shittiest habits imaginable
>>222789186its hard to say since pretty much all the supernatural scenes happen through Rusts perspective, and its hinted that the loss of his daughter and the years he spent undercover doing drugs and other crazy shit have left his brain in a state where he’s either just hallucinating vague symbols and clues as he gets deeper into the investigation (kind of lovecraftian in a way)….or those events have genuinely left him with an ability to be an antenna whose able to actually see beyond the veil of reality, the fact that they didnt cuck out and instead left it up in the air was definitely the smart decision. As for his Neitzschian interpretation of time being a flat circle, if that is how time works then Rust and Marty always put an end to the long history of evil that they were fighting, although a lot of shit gets fucked up along the way there, for both of them, good overcomes evil in that situation forever, and in each subsequent loop of time there after
>>222789434>"Is the light winning, Mr. Francis?">It is winning.
