Do you think Jim Carrey asked them to write this dialogue in?
Is it OK to advertise cults/scams in a movie for children?

Jim Carrey has a consulting credit for the film simply because he wrote many of his own lines and came up with many of his own gags. He's more or less just doing Ace Ventura in a costume. The films were big hits, and he was a major draw to them, so they paid him a lot to return.

Never seen this movie but since he's obviously the villain, isn't this supposed to be making fun of the idea?

Those jokes are for the parents, not the kids.
