i liked him more, and it's already been pointed out John Lithgow is pretty damn old (80, same age as Dolly Parton was).Gambon did a lot of twirling about in the later films (can't remember how mobile he was in the books), so sooner or later they'd have to do something like the 'Three Doctors' episode of Classic Doctor Who: William Hartnell was old and could barely talk, so they invented a sci-fi reason he was trapped in a television-dimension.maybe you'd see Richard Harris' face in closeups occasionally, but most of the time it's a body double. they'd definitely have to use the character a lot less (which was fine for the first two books, but then he played a more active role).
