I get that I'm 10 years late but I'm just now getting into Marvel.Cap 1 and 2 are pretty good, I got into those because Hydra seemed an interesting concept and Occult Nazis should have been fun to explore too, too bad that was only really brought up in the prelude, in that church. It would have been nice and it would have made a lot of sense to have Asgard mixed in with that as well somehow but it is what it is.Age of Ultron was probably the best movie of the series, leading into Civil War which might as well have been the canon finale for MCU.What the FUCK is this joke of a movie? Near the end I was thinking "there we go, Ragnarok, finally" and those 10 minutes were actually pretty good, with the prophecy being what you have to do, not what you have to prevent. The rest of the movie was a fucking joke no one one could give a shit about. Forget about them picking the ugliest bitch to play Valkyrie, forget about Hulk's for once interesting development and relationship with Natasha in Ultron culminating in him becoming a joke character, both as Hulk and as Banner in this movie and ever since it (and I don't even care for him as a character), who gets weak in the knees looking at the ugliest bitch and turns into a bumbling fool during what should be his greatest depression episode, forget about literally every character being a comedy act, but why the fuck must we suffer through 2 hours of Planet Hulk meandering in a movie about Ragnarok? Because some dorks demanded it from the comics and Marvel is too cheap to make a Hulk movie? character limit
Disney doesn't own the hulk copyrights
>>222797037Marvel always does this shit where they kickstart a movie via a "comedic" and out of character misunderstanding (see that with Strange in the Spiderman movie as well) but here it's most egregious because not only is Mjolnir destroyed in 5 seconds and Bifrost is opened hastily by mistake, but Hulk just fucking happens to be on that planet as well because uhh, a wormhole I guess? I had to read that online, is that even shown in any movie? There's much more shit to complain about and I'm sure it's been all said 100 times before but I had to get it off my chest. It's hard to take anything seriously anymore. Thor could have been the coolest guy but he shuffles between strongest Avenger and comedy act. Prof X has died 3 times so far and is due for a fourth. Cap remains the best character because he hasn't had enough appearances for them to ruin him. Turns out though by the way that he's grown old with Peggy Carter but also Loki picked him out of his universe. Everything is either parody or inconsistent. She Hulk and who knows what other bullshit there is, I heard the Bucky show is about Sam experiencing racism. Oh well.>>222797047Alright so don't make that movie then. It's not like we got any interesting storyline or cool smashing anyway.
>>222797047cool, show planet hulk in GOTG or some other sci-fi shit no one cares about
it's a schizophrenic movie. Feels more like Deadpool than Thor
>>222797268It really is.Speaking of which, I wonder how they'll reconcile Deadpool's 4th wall breaking omniscience with a more serious overarching plot.
>>222797037You're taking them a bit too seriously, son Doesn't this movie have a literal record scratch, yep that's me scene?
>>222797468>You're taking them a bit too seriously, sonTaking it as seriously as I've taken all the previous ones. Why waste time to engage with it if it's a series of shit jokes
>>222797866And that's too seriously anon, it's all slop of the lowest orderHave some self respect
>>222797941No duh, after seeing it, I'm of the same mind. I just had some higher hopes for it after finding myself enjoying some phase 1 and 2 slop.
>>222797037Ragnarok came out while the goycattle was still in its "marvel can do no wrong" trance, when it's really no better than the post endgame slop. It baffles me that some people praise this movie while simultaneously shitting on love and thunder when they're the exact same shit.
>>222797110>some other sci-fi shit no one cares aboutThat's exactly what they did. Nobody cares about Thor.
>>222797037They made Ragnarok a stupid comedy because Thor 1 and 2 were really unimpressive and then James Gun came out with two exceptional rock operas in Guardians of the Galaxy 1 and 2, and honestly, a Flash Gordon style rock opera would have been perfect for Thor, but they made it needlessly goofy.
>>222798700Eh, no one cared about most of them before Avengers. >>222799013I don't necessarily even have a problem with the comedy other than it not working out most of the time, and that's not the core of my critique. I will mention though that there's no reason why it couldn't have been an apocalyptic movie with act 1 being Surtur destroying Asgard, act 2 an attempt to rebuild and 3 being "resurrecting" Surtur to defeat Hela. It keeps the same themes and is more or less the same movie, but what you've done away with is the Planet Hulk meandering. Again, the issue is that Hulk had an interesting arc going on and it's all been sacrificed in the name of nerd fan service (which I suppose it's fine but pick a different movie) and shit comedy. The guy was ready to kill himself and now he's flirting with that mulatto, give me a break. It set the precedent for shit not mattering (and not in the multiverse way of things where characters can die on screen 20 times) but in the way of "oh we needed this character here for a nice story so he fell through a wormhole". All of Frank's drama (I assume it was still there, I haven't watched Daredevil since Netflix) disappears for a couple of gags in Spiderman now. I know it's retarded to cry about dork shit online but I was really pissed at how Thor was handled, I liked that character.
>>222798555That's just cattle doing what they do. They never had any opinions of their own. Most people rank Ragnarok higher than Ultron, it's craziness
