God being evil in Supernatural somewhat makes sense, "theologically speaking" - considering all of the vile shit that happens in his multiverse even in Heaven, where there is supposed to be no sin or restrictions to his omnipotence, one can conclude that this Lord and Maker is not actually omnibenevolent way before season 14... Or the fact that he is not actual Primal Mover of everything ("Alpha and Omega") but only a half of it ("Alpha", with Amara being "Omega"), but falsely claimed that he was...

But I still fucking hate this retarded Reddit atheist tier "plot twist" executed worse than a below average quality SCP-001 proposal that retroactively completely ruins 90% of characterisation, story arcs, or symbolism of early seasons.

Of course, satanist feminists coopted the show after season 5.
The first five seasons God is clearly depicted as benevolent.
I know kripke is completely lost in the sauce these days but it's blatantly obvious there was no "god is actually evil" plan starting out.

Being evil in ANY setting where the supernatural/spiritual are common knowledge and empirically confirmed is nonsensical, unless the "evil side" offers their own version of a paradise, and not a "gotcha now we're going to boil your balls for all eternity."
>>

God / Chuck was a self insert foe the writers writing about how they were ending their own show. They k really it was the last season so they made themselves God and the ultimate meta evil

>The first five seasons God is clearly depicted as benevolent.
No he isn't. He's depicted as someone that abandoned his angels and Earth.
He's depicted as a deadbeat dad.

>He's depicted as a deadbeat dad.

Did you even WATCH the first 5 seasons?

God is depicted as a very tired, but patient father who is disappointed with his children (humans). God has repeatedly told humans to be good, but they just don't listen. Humans keep killing each other and commiting horrible acts to each other. When humans are to be destroyed God always steps in and bails them out. God is a tired parent with children who don't listen or learn from their mistakes.

They even had an entire episode in Supernatural where God directly told the Winchesters (through an angel) that he was tired. That he was finished protecting humanity for billions of years, and that he's done more than enough. That God was taking a vacation, and it was time humanity grew up and take responsibility for their actions.

Supernatural even hinted that Earth was not the only planet with life in the universe that God created. But it gets the most attention from God because humans are so problematic. Even some of the other Angels were sick of how much attention Earth gets are annoyed at humans causing so many problems.

Watch the show properly next time.
>>
>>222799294
The whole 5 seasons is literally god writing a second salvation for humanity.
And guess what happens after season 5, suddenly god becomes evil and the literal antichrist takes over and this is painted as the "good ending".
>>
>>222797813
I haven't watched Supernatural but the logical conclusion is that God is not evil, he just knows that free will is the only thing that leads to greatness and either loves to inhabit vicariously or literally. Film and television, and I'm sure philosophers but I wouldn't know, have already come to this conclusion I've seen in two forms:
>Dogma
God loves skeeball. Skeeball could not have come about without free will.
>Rick and Morty S309
"The universe is basically an animal, it grazes on the ordinary. It creates infinite idiots just to eat them." Ordinary people allow great people to exist, but the mistake people like Ayn Rand make is that great people still need ordinary people to be great. They create each other, just like peace and war, happiness and sadness.

It's a re66it show. Fuck the WB.
>>
God being evil doesn't make sense in any context because God is complete in the broadest sense of the word, and evil is just incomplete good. It's something that is only good for one person in one way while forsaking the rest. And evil is only able to exist at all because God doesn't take people's free will away even when they use it impulsively or selfishly. He will let you burn your own future if you choose to, and will not intervene unless you ask for help in good faith.
>>
None of this made much sense chuck is god and he writes out the events of the boy lives, no actually he's not god any more and he's now evil for reasons. The writers just gave up.

old testament. After he came down as Jesus and lived among us he chilled out.
>>
>>222797813
Well the important distinction is "in supernatural..." because the biblical version of him doesnt have a multiverse and the chaotic rebelling angelic beings are bound at the flood. The greek leaning philosophical lense people portray God as presents evil as a flaw of his order whereas the actual biblical order of it shows he is allowing human-led humanist centered nations to try their versions of civil rule so they reveal their own folley and when it reaches an apex he will destroy it all and implement a city where we walk with him personally. Under this version of it you wont be able to say, after the judgement:
>well if you gave me another few years I thought up the perfect utopia you just cut me off before I was able to implement it
and his judgements will be perfect. But yes in the supernatural version of reality that makes more sense because the cosmology is diffferent and theres more corruption of angel beinngs.
>>
>>222808846
>he burns cities to the ground

It wasn't because God was bad. It was because those cities were too corrupted and irredeemable. God said they cannot be saved.

The cities of Sodom and Gomorra weren't some pleasant tourist destinations. The humans living there were totally lost to decadance and degeneration. They humans living there had entire rape gangs raping people in broad daylight. They kept trying to find new ways to pleasure themselves.

God even gave those cities one last chance. He sent angels to see if the cities had anything worth saving and to see if they would renounce their wicked ways. What did the residents of Sodom and Gomorra do? The residents responded by literally trying to rape an Angel of God. The Angel burned their eyes out and made them blind as punishment. But what did they do? The Blind residents got back up and tried to continue raping the Angel of God again - even with their eyes burned out and being blind! That's when God said those humans were beyond saving.

Those ethnic groups were sacrificing babies and worshipping terrible demonic entities. They were given the chance to repent. They refused. So God said they had to go.

The pagan gods power are fueled by worship from humans. They haven't had real worshippers in hundreds of years, and were extremely weake compared to their peak.

The Angels even commented on this. Lucifer said the Pagan gods once controlled the planet, but they turned on each other instead of staying united. So the Angels were able to slowly take over Earth while the Pagan gods were busy fighting each other.

Supernatural from episode 1 to the finale is very consistent with its premise, writing, sets, acting etc.
It is the most "standard" show I've ever watched. Sure you get episodes like the werewolf one from the teens POV, but as a whole the show is bang on dead centre "standard".

If you're upset about power levels, this or that character changing, die-offs i.e. Crowley - the show and premise is called "Supernatural". You're a pseud for mentally tracking and equating power levels of fictitious characters in a show whose title says "fake".

The only on-going negative i can really think of, is that by binge watching it you get 2-4 episodes in a row where Sam and Dean are in the car at night at the end of an episode telling each other that they'll die for one another, because family. That's jarring, but not inherently the fault of an entire ecosystem collapsing (cable/syndicated/broadcast TV).

Also if you're one of those people that says S5, i will defeat your NPC programming and change the discourse: https://archive.4plebs.org/tv/thread/222045376/#222045796
>>

>Supernatural from episode 1 to the finale is very consistent with its premise, writing, sets, acting etc.
Only up to Season 5.

Every season afterwards changes wildly because the writers kept changing.
>>
>>222810493
Yeah except that they aren’t, the idea that the pagan Gods get their power from human’s worshiping them is not present in any of their mythologies. It comes from Neil Gaiman and the rest of the hacks liked it and copied it.
>>
Some people think this was part of God's plan, and he wanted to test people. He seemed happy that he was defeated in some way. Alternately, this was still part of his story he was writing.
>>
>>222799869
How does an omnipotent being get tired? Why would an omnibenevolent being care if he was?
>>
>>222811902
This is a lie. Season 6-15 stays within the established premise of the show, the quality of writing is relatively consistent as a whole.

This is an NPC take. You've adopted that line of thinking because you're incapable of organically observing the environment and synthesizing a novel response internally. So instead, if you parrot "the line" as you read it some time ago and believe it is your voice.

I finished a watch through for the first time a few days ago - Supernatural, as is, is entirely consistent in terms of quality and writing for all 15 seasons. There is only variation between episodes but on the whole the premise remains relatively flat.
Another often citied NPC take is that the Leviathans are in part responsible for one of the "worst seasons" of the show - yet they're the most realistic interpretation of what an intelligent bad guy would do, they're in fact out-of-the-norm and above in terms of quality in their Leviathan-centric episodes. Which again, adjusting episode by episode holds true to what i said earlier in terms of ebb and flow, ultimately returning to the mean of total quality of the entire show.

I was taken aback by how consistent the show managed to stay for 15 seasons while retaining the 22 episodes per season. The only notably bad episodes are the episodes without Sam and Dean, a la the Werewolf episode and the 2-3 soft-pilot episodes. All in all not bad and again, buffered by the good episodes either side.

If your problem is the inconsistent power levels - The shows called Supernatural. It is inherent within the premise.
>>

TRUE Lord not FAKE lord you nigger-nogger gollywogger
>>
>>222812047
The power system in Supernatural is based on two things

1. Humans worshipping you

Or

2. Controlling human souls

Pagan gods were mostly fueled by #1.

Angels and Demons are powerful because of #2. They control heaven and hell. Each of those places has tons of human souls.

>How does an omnipotent being get tired?
Since when does omnipotent mean they cant be annoyed? Omnipotent beints can't experience emotion? What a weird definition you have.

>Why would an omnibenevolent being care if he was?

Since when was God omnibenevelovent? No ever said that. It's the literal opposite. God makes himself clear in the bible that his love and grace are conditional on humans following his rules.
>>
>>222812094
>How does an omnipotent being get tired?
Not physically tired, just "tired" of humans' bullshit. It's not literal, like when your mom says she's "sick and tired" of you disobeying her; do you assume she's running a fever and didn't get enough sleep last night? No, she's neither literally sick nor literally tired, it's just a turn of phrase.

Catholic theologians were arguing this back in the 5th century or so AD. Can God create a burrito so hot He cannot eat it? (Technically it was the old heavy rock question since burritos were yet to be invented.) No, because that is a semantic absurdity disguised as a question, not a thing. That it cannot be done is because it cannot exist. Logical impossibilities are not “things” but linguistic constructs. They have no reference to reality and are a contradiction in terminology.

Things that are not logical, like gotchas by fedora atheists on Mongolian cave painting bulletin boards fifteen centuries later, are just that: gotchas.
