Leaving steel aside, bronze weapons are actually superior to iron ones. The reason why iron ended up dominating was because it was way more common, easier to produce and cheaper than bronze.

>>222798599Silver is a shit metal to make weapons and armour from. The name comes from the usage of bronze as tools, weapons and armour. That's why the next age is the Iron Age because it's when smelting technology began to improve allowing for higher temperatures to forge iron. After that naming ages became more about cultural things going on since iron stayed around with steel just being an improved alloy of iron which then got replaced by guns which we still use today.
