James Gunn isn't going anywhere.
>>

If I was them I would also give my assurances. I'd continue to say this up until the point the deal was signed. Then I'd immediately throw Gunn out on his ass. As a matter of fact, I'd wipe my WHOLE ASS with DC Studios. Let's hope there's a patriot standing by at Paramount to do the needful.

>they're lying
So this is the Jeetcope, huh?
>>
Says who? The opinion piece from The Wrap?
>>
It took Warner 7 bombs to ditch Snyder. How many will it take for Paramount to ditch Gunn?
>>
>>222803188
he's greenlit a total of 5 films and 3 TV shows to date. supergirl was the first bomb he was personally responsible for.

But here's the kicker.
>>
>>222803254
>supergirl was the first bomb he was personally responsible for.
You're forgetting The Suicide Squad, that he directed.
Not to mention that Superman underperformed, or do you think that a recent movie made 100 million just through Video On Demand purchases and streaming deals?
>>
>>222803158
It's based on a months old quote from a DCU producer who said Ellison was "pretty open to what we're doing". This was pre-Supergirl.
>>
>>222803488
No it's not. Glad to know you didn't read the article.
>>
>>222803573
Yes, it is. That's the only source inside the studios they have, the Supergirl producer.
>>
>>222803188
Safran has a shit ton of bombs and he's still the guy
>>
>>222803341
International completely ignoring Superman and getting dumped to streaming like other underperformers is the high watermark of success now

But remember, anon, it was all because Gunn wanted everyone to be able to see Superman in preparation for the second season of Peacemaker, which was key content to understand the larger DC cinematic universe. That's why Superman became available early for streaming.

You didn't read the article >>222803319

>>222803854
I read, they don't name the sources and then repeat the same news that came directly from Safran's camp. How convenient.
Then right after they say it'll all depend on how well the next movies will be.

Paramount already went over Gunn's head and met with Zach Cregger last year about making a DC movie. This is obvious PR bullshit.
>>
>>222803959
>Matthew Belloni
>>
>>222804140
What? You think Umberto Gonzalez is more credible? The Wrap is one of the rags that Gunn and Safran use as mouthpiece now that they have made enemies out of all of the reputable trades.
>>
>>222804226
NTA, but Gonzalez didn't write the article.Jeremy Fuster and Drew Taylor did.
>>
>>222802842
I really don't think it matters who they put in. They're trying to create a whole new expanded universe without having the whole "heroes coming together" thing.

Should have kept Henry Cavill as Superman, Christian Bale as Batman, and Ryan Reynolds as Green Lantern. From there you have your established characters in their own movies who can come together in Justice League.

Now anything that Marvel does that isn't Batman is going to suck.

Good. Crash that ship with no survivors and sell what's left to Netflix piecemeal lmao
>>
>>222802842
If Paramount's allowed to buy Warner things are going to become even more shit than they already are.
>>
>>222803632
I'm surprised no one brings up the Safran part of this, what exactly does he do?

Skydance only just finalized their takeover of Paramount months before trying to bid on WB. People brush off the complaints about Paramount but so far they haven't really shown they have a good reason to buy WB.
