Dinosaurs would die with a single shotgun. I will be more afraid of a fucking lion than a big ass reptile.
>>
>>222805840
A big enough Lion can most likely shrug off a shotgun blast, you need stopping power to drop a large predator before it gets to you. I don't even think that most "dinosaurs" were even reptiles.
>>
I don’t think a person would just stand there and watch their husband or probably anyone get torn apart alive by an animal. Yeah shock can cause people to freeze up but she literally stares at her husband getting eaten like one of you freaks watching live leak. It’s creepy.

>>
>>222804977
I saw it and hated it. It’s bad, but what really angers me about it is that it *could* have been good. Fuck it. It SHOULD have been good, great even. It’s like someone said, “Hey! What if we did Jurassic Park meets Back to the Future?” and their thought process stopped at that precise point. They got Obi Wan and Catwoman, for fuck’s sake. Is it really that much to ask that they come up with a fully cooked story? What kind of soulless psychopath INTENTIONALLY writes the mom heartless enough to doom her own past self and children to die just so she can “undo” her fuckup? There were so many ways to go, and they chose the laziest and most morally indefensible. It’s this simple: have their past selves “merge” with their future selves. You just get this phone call:

>Hello?
>Hi Kenobi.
>Catwoman!? Oh my God, honey, I was so worried! Are the kids with you?
>Yes, sweetie, but you have to -
>Where are you guys? I just came back upstairs and you were all g-
>I don’t have time to explain right now, but just come meet us here at X.

See? Simple, right? Now your Gremlins-esque mashup of Jurassic Park and BttF doesn’t involve selficide and terrible, selfish decisions presented as “heartwarming.”

How or why the wormholes showed up is never explained
How the time travel itself functions is sort of explained, since in the final jump the protagonists end up back home, 20 minutes before the wormhole ate the neighborhood in the first place

Anne Hathaway gets on the phone and gets people to evacuate their homes. She saves some of her friends, a guy she hates, her husband who she'd already seen die. The brown girl who saw her parents killed rushes to her parents house and finds her parents, and herself from 20 minutes ago, and apparently THAT family sorts it out and lives happily ever after

But all of this, especially the brown girl inadvertently duplicating herself to save her parents, implies that Anne Hathaway intentionally allowed 20 Minutes Ago Anne Hathaway and her children to die so that she could keep 20 Minutes Ago Ewan McGregor to herself
>>
The implied lesbian shit pissed me the fuck off, quite honestly
>>
>>222809784
There's some big specimens that had feathers like yutyrannus and earliest evidence is from early or middle jurassic period like kulindadromeus, so we know they go back a long time.
Also incredible well preserved fossils like the psittacoraurus which had bristles on the tail and how they figured out the approximate color of its skin.
If someone wants to go deeper in learning about dinosaur anatomy and the science of it, psittacosaurus papers are a great start:

>>
>>222819507
That’s meant to be a titanoboa though. It competed with and probably even hunted giant prehistoric crocodiles. Same as the allosaur, these apex predators are just built different than the ones we had today.

Imagine being an apex predator built to hunt sauropods, and a fucking sledgehammer scares you off. No shit, a sledgehammer blow would make a bear think twice, but they only hunt moose. Allosaurs hunted animals the size of semi-trailers, or bigger. It’s just a fucking preposterous film.
>>
>>222812267
Who?
>>
>>222819409
>30ton snake.

I know you’re exaggerating and using hyperbole. But the titanoboa is estimated at about 1 ton. Anacondas only reach about 400lbs, and they can ragdoll grown men, their strikes will knock you off your feet and when they constrict, sometimes the victim still dies if the snake is shot dead.

The idea you could use your human muscles to keep a titanoboa behind a door is absolutely ludicrous. It could probably just strike clean through the door and still knock you over. Without the door in the way? It would be like being hit by a battering ram.

To combat these animals, I think Pete Postlethwaite‘s character from Jurassic Park 2 had the right idea. You’d want an elephant gun chambered in nitro express to reliably hurt them.

>>222819980
Allosaur fossil evidence shows they bit each other. The sledgehammer just isn’t enough. You could hurt one badly with a heavy spear or poleaxe, but fighting them in melee is suicidal behaviour no matter what weapon you have.
>>
>>222805840
The dinosaur dying at some point after it kills you will be very comforting, I’m sure.
You need stopping power to hunt big animals safely.
>>
>>222820215
>But the titanoboa is estimated at about 1 ton.

>>
>>222820263
Ah ok.

A 50 metre constrictor snake would probably be at least 5 tons. It would be a one animal natural disaster, assuming it didn’t die under its own weight or starve.

1,000 prime Ewan McrGreggors couldn’t stop it from entering a door.

No, humans are getting increasingly less intelligent. These writers and producers live in an extremely insular world. If you were to introduce them to any domesticated large mammal they would flip shit and completely misunderstand the animal so poorly they'd probably be injured by it.

Proto feathers are not feathers. Damn revisionists.

this was so anticlimax, but it was worse what the did at the end fro the sake of status quo.

I hate dishonest film. I really liked the film, but it is really a dishonest films.

It is better to be a honest film than a good film.

Rodents can still bite your eyes.

>this is supposed to be a Coelophysis
It's like they were afraid of using any actual species of dromaeosaurid so they took another type of dinosaur and turned it into a dromaeosaurid.

That thing is not a Titaniboa. It's a land eel with the mouth of an Edestus.

An 8 to 10lb sledge hammer most certainly would hurt. But yeah, that skull isn't getting so rattled the animal loses consciousness.
>>
>>222819409
This is fucking atrocious.
>>
>>222823084
He got dazed and fell over.

The real issue is that the retard didn't then continue to pummel its skull into the ground and instead went "nah, good enough!" and ran off.

Animals dont like getting hurt the scene looks stupid but I dont mind the attempt to portray them some instinct of self preservation instead of portraying them as insanely aggressive. It would hurt if someone hit you in the teeth with a big sledgehammer.

I genuinely hate this trend of putting dinosaurs in urban environments with no real rhyme or reason to it and people pretending like the setting clash isn't the corniest thing ever.

In his defense, if you're able to topple an Allosaurus like that, I assume I would also assume it is dead since any force strong enough to move an Allosaurus like that is also strong enough to crush its skull
>>
>>222803359
this was the the best scene of the movie
it actually shut everyone up in my theater after there was constant laughter and people chatting during the flick how stupid some of the scenes were
>people laughing at him knocking out the dino
>mixed with audible sighs/groans
>some guy yelled something along the lines of "of course, so stupid, man" (can't remember, it was over a week ago)
>people audibly talking to each other again
>suddenly Ewan McGregor actually gets fucking chomped in this pg13 movie after all these cliche escape scenes
nobody said a word for the next 5 minutes lmao
too bad the ending ruined it

Godzilla is a fictional mutant dinosaur
He was originally a generic looking theropod a "Godzillasaurus" until the nuclear radiation made him gigantic

Yes, and that applies only to the Heisei Godzilla. All the others are different things.
