I work for Marvel and have the entire plot to Avengers Secret Wars, which has begun filming. The studio is moving away from the current MCU and will make use of more 'legacy' characters.

>The film opens with Tobey Maguire’s Spider-Man battling Mysterio, played by Bruce Campbell, across New York. Mysterio has secretly drugged much of the city’s population and is using advanced technology to create enormous illusions, including a gigantic flying version of himself, allowing him to rob banks and steal valuable experimental technology while the city descends into panic. Peter initially struggles to distinguish reality from illusion, but eventually recognises the inconsistencies in Mysterio’s tricks and turns the illusions against him. The battle spills into a teenage hockey game involving The Mighty Ducks, where Gordon Bombay, played by Emilio Estevez, briefly appears and helps get the children to safety. Peter ultimately defeats Mysterio and saves the city, but the victory does little to improve his increasingly lonely life.

>Elsewhere, Madame Web, played by Dakota Johnson, is shown inside a strange pocket dimension, seemingly watching events unfold across different realities. She turns towards an unidentified figure and suggests that he may be the one they need. The scene ends without revealing who she is talking about.

>Peter returns home alone and spends the evening looking through old photographs of Mary Jane. Their relationship has ended, although the circumstances surrounding their separation remain unexplained. Peter is visibly haunted by the loss. Suddenly, Madame Web appears through a portal and takes him from his apartment, transporting him to another reality.

>Peter arrives on Battleworld, a vast artificial planet populated by an entire humanoid alien civilisation. He soon meets the Beyonder, played by Mel Gibson, who explains that he created Battleworld as an experiment. He has brought together powerful individuals representing good and evil and given them a world of their own, intending to discover which force is ultimately stronger.

>Peter is given access to an advanced computer capable of transporting heroes from other realities. Knowing he cannot face Battleworld’s villains alone, he asks for two other Spider-Men. Andrew Garfield’s Peter Parker arrives, followed by another mysterious Spider-Man. The unidentified Spider-Man immediately becomes frightened by the situation and runs away before anyone can see his face. Peter then uses the machine to summon heroes capable of countering the various threats: Wolverine, played by Hugh Jackman, Ghost Rider, played by Nicolas Cage, Daredevil, played by Charlie Cox, Storm, played by Ellie Ensley, Mr Fantastic, played by Brendan Schaub, Iron Man, played by Tom Cruise, and Black Cat, played by Felicity Jones.

>The heroes soon become embroiled in a war between Battleworld’s villains. Doctor Doom, played by Robert Downey Jr, has established himself as a lawful but authoritarian ruler, believing that strict control is necessary to maintain order. Kingpin, played by Michael Clarke Duncan, rules over a vast criminal empire, while Lizard, played by Rhys Ifans, sees evil almost as a disease that has infected humanity. Carnage, played by Cameron Monaghan, is an utterly savage killer with no interest in anything except violence. Ultron, voiced by James Spader, is an artificial intelligence that believes its evil nature is intrinsic to its creation, while Darth Vader, played by Hayden Christensen, rules as Doom’s rival tyrant.

>While terrorising a small town, Carnage is confronted by the mysterious Spider-Man. During the battle, Peter discovers that the alien symbiote is vulnerable to sonic frequencies. He uses this weakness to force the creature away from Cletus Cassidy, leaving him powerless. Consumed by rage, Peter murders Cletus. The symbiote then returns to Peter and bonds with him, transforming him into the far more dangerous Spider-Carnage.

>The heroes later confront Lizard and manage to defeat him. Reed Richards discovers that Curt Connors’ mind is still present beneath the creature’s instincts and uses technology to restore his consciousness. Connors remains permanently trapped in his Lizard form but joins the heroes, becoming one of their most useful allies.

>As the conflict develops, the heroes eventually come into contact with Doctor Doom. Although initially treated as one of their enemies, Doom proves to be very different from the other villains. He genuinely believes that his authoritarian rule provides stability and protection for Battleworld’s population. His rivalry with Vader also becomes increasingly important, as Doom sees Vader as a destructive tyrant rather than a legitimate ruler. Over time, the heroes begin to tolerate Doom, and he gradually becomes a respected and even beloved leader among the people of Battleworld.

>Doom eventually takes Peter to a mysterious fountain containing an alien substance unlike anything else on the planet. He explains that anyone who looks into it can experience their ultimate desire as though it were real. Peter looks into the fountain and finds himself reunited with Mary Jane, played by Kirsten Dunst. He talks with her, embraces her and briefly experiences the life he wishes he could have had. The experience deeply affects Peter, but Doom refuses to use the substance himself. He considers it beneath him because it is ultimately a form of deception. He warns Peter that the substance must never fall into the hands of Ultron or Vader, who would undoubtedly weaponise it.

>The conflict escalates when Vader attempts to seize greater control of Battleworld. Ultron ultimately turns against him and defeats him with the assistance of Spider-Carnage, leaving Ultron as one of the dominant forces on the planet.

>The heroes then encounter Spider-Carnage again, and his true identity is finally revealed. He is Peter Parker, played by Tanner Buchanan, the mysterious Spider-Man who initially fled when he arrived on Battleworld. His history explains his unstable behaviour. His Uncle Ben was murdered, Gwen Stacy was killed by the Green Goblin, Aunt May became terminally ill, and Peter later discovered that he might actually be a clone. The accumulated trauma destroyed his sense of identity and purpose. After bonding with the symbiote, his grief and hatred were amplified until he became Spider-Carnage, a completely unstable version of Spider-Man determined to destroy not just his own universe but all of reality.

>Spider-Carnage initially overwhelms the heroes and manipulates both Ultron and Vader into helping him acquire the technology needed to destroy the multiverse. However, Peter and Doom realise that the alien substance from the fountain may offer another way to defeat him. Peter remembers his experiences with Mysterio and understands that, rather than fighting Spider-Carnage directly, they may be able to use his own desires against him.

>Their plan is to confront the trauma at the centre of Spider-Carnage’s madness. Using the substance, they bring him face to face with a manifestation of his Uncle Ben, played by Bryan Cranston.

>Ben talks to Peter and reminds him of the person he was before grief consumed him. He helps Peter confront everything he has lost rather than continuing to blame himself and the world for it. Spider-Carnage gradually breaks down, eventually sobbing as he realises that his attempt to destroy reality has been driven by an inability to accept the deaths and suffering that shaped his life.

>The symbiote senses Peter’s change and attempts to take control again. Peter fights back against it, tearing himself away from its influence and finally regaining control of his own mind. However, the multiverse-destruction device has already been activated and cannot simply be shut down.

>Rather than allowing the machine to destroy countless realities, Peter makes one final decision. He redirects the device’s entire destructive force onto himself. The machine consumes Spider-Carnage, killing him while leaving the rest of reality intact.
