I grew up in West Virginia where everything was perpetually a couple decades behind the rest of the country and can confirm that our weekends mostly consisted of forming small groups to drive around drinking and smoking pot and linking up with other groups some nights. Then in the summer there were usually some parties when someone's parents were out of town or sometimes just in like an empty field with a few kegs. Didn't really matter if you were popular or not either. It was always fun to see some nerdy kid get really drunk and become an extrovert for a night or get hit on by a girl who would never even speak to you normally just because she was trashed. It was a good time.

Yeah, my school even did kidnapping thing. This happened during homecoming but seniors would stuff freshman into cars and bring them somewhere to drink and smoke weed
>>
>>222809988
i really like this movie
feels a little crazy that most of these high school people had cars
>>

I grew up in a small midwest town in the 90’s and Dazed And Confused is what high school was like. We hazed the freshmen too but we didn’t make paddles to spank them we’d get them drunk and duct tape them to telephone poles.
>>
pretty much. Why do you think American society collapsed so quickly?

Not sure about unc's high school days in the '70s. But I graduated high school in 2015 and Bunheads was the closest thing to my high school experience. Was friends with a girl like that and her friend group was in it's own world but nice enough to everyone. All the cliques were like that with the occasional dose of micro-drama. Also grew up in a oceanside town like in the show. I wish there was hot ballerinas in my school though.

High School from 1970 through about 99 was pretty much the same cool experience just with different fashion and music
