The essential idea is that the man is involuntarily turned into a savage beast who can't control himself and kills.-I have a really bad memory of watching that horrible film Van Helsing in the theater. It was this awful mish-mash of various monsters and maybe there was a werewolf in there, but who cares?-I've watched a few scenes of American Werewolf in London, but I never had any interest in watching the whole thing. The little I saw with the added zombie/undead angle was weird. I was also not impressed with the main transformation sequence.-never had any interest in watching the old school Wolf Man Hollywood horror film. Not perfectly sure who it was. I think it was maybe Lon Cheney?-If I had to point toward instances that I sorta-liked, I would suggest the bit in the middle of Coppola's Dracula where Dracula (IIRC) becomes a hell-hound and bite-rape-kills the one bitch or something. Likewise the throwaway Michael Jackson Thriller early werewolf costume.
