Can you guys recommend me Taiwanese or Hong Kong kino?
Stuff like Wong kar wai, God of Gamblers, God of Cookery, hard boiled, All For the Winner, Shaolin movies or Shaw Brothers, jackie chan and michelle yeoh, and King Hu.
I want the best shit
I know I haven't seen a lot.
I've actually never watched Drunken Master for example

What about Patrick Tam movies? Cynthia Rothrock vehicles? Early 90s Tsui Hark like The Blade? Cat III madness like Dr. Lamb?

I haven't seen many Shaw Brothers movies or Shaolin movies, and i only saw mood for love, I didn't even watch the first God of Gamblers

I did see The Eagle Shooting Heroes 1993 and it was very silly

Someone already rec'd Tsui Hark but I second that, I would recommend Green Snake, one of the most gorgeous Chinese films.

I never hear anyone talk about Full Time Killer.

it's early 00s, the weakest period on the whole board

watch the English dub to make it twice as funny

Thank you. What about Yiyi, is that good?

Of course. You gotta be emotionally prepared for it, as gay as that sounds. That mood where you feel nothing but sincerity

>The big 3 of Taiwanese arthouse cinema: Edward Yang, Hou Hsiao-Hsien, Tsai Ming-Liang. They really are that good for the most part.
HK cinema was so rad. It's a damn that it got utterly flattened by mainlander political meddling. I saw a movie made by WKW's old cinematographer called the Captain recently and it was one of the worst pieces of propaganda dogshit i'd seen in a while. Melodrama worthy of a shitty cheapo tv show on CCTV. They don't even produce many actioners anymore.
Anyway have fun with this list OP

His movies mostly suck. He turned A Better Tomorrow into a weepy love triangle.
