>>222879916Because they’re literally not allowed to. They do multiple takes, and a scene that looks like it took 5 mins to film, took an entire day. They actually have a bag right next to them to spit out the food for the scenes when they do bite into it. Then they go get their teeth cleaned and do some more takes. But the food on the table has to stay looking the same, or have one bite taken, for continuity reasons. That’s why scenes filmed at diners/restaurants tend to be filmed at night, or they have a fake background with lighting. Otherwise it wouldn’t match the sunlight moving. There’s a term called “working against the sun” for when they have a small time limit to get the scene right, or they have to come back tomorrow.
