>haha horn go toot
>>222876638He'd make a decent Dr. Doom
>>222876629OP may genuinely be a woman.
That was the point, he was evil and summoned the other bad guys.
>>222876629He was the Tank, he was aggroing them. Problem is the DPS didn’t pull his wait. Fucking knife ears. They’ll miss the whole fight then get all enigmatic and say “a red sun rises, blood has been spilled this night.” Worst thing is, everyone forgives them too!
he was trying to out-aurafarm Aragorn
>>222876629How would he alert the others then?
>scenes women will never understand
>>222876629ackshually he was calling all allies and not just the fellowship, but anyone from Gondor. What's retarded is somehow Faramir or his rangers heard the horn, but where unable to show up....
>>222876629he literally, LITERALLY wanted to get the attention pf the enemies to let Frodo escape safely
Strange there was no frodoposting in this thread.
>>222876629The enemies already knew where he was.The allies didnt.
why are dwarves so fucking based?
>>222880431King of Gondor and Arnor Elessar is calling for a total and complete shutdown of Frodoposting until we can figure out what the hell is going on in the Undying Lands.
>>222876629That was literally what he was thinking.
1 Aragorn is worth 100 orcs, the goat trio together is worth 1000The horn was his only chance of saving Merry & Pippin
Shoutout to that one anon watching this with his gf and she turns to him and says "good I hated that guy" during Boromirs death scene.
>>222878732>doesnt understand magic
>>222877347very sad!
If Boromir had lived do you think the story would have played out differently? Lets say the uruks took Merry and Pip, but Boromir the chad slew too many and they just ran away from him.
>>222876629He had to get it on.
>acts icky in rivendell>tries to steal the ring from a literal child>is a dick to AragornYeah, I was happy when this villain died
>>222880994Weaponized autism.
>>222878732Faramir was fending off Orcs trying to cross the Anduin at this time
>>222881757Denethor would have been easier to handle if Boromir passed the test of the ring and survived. If Merry and Pippin hadn't been taken by the orcs though the series of events that lead to Sauron thinking Pippin had the ring may not have happened though, and that was integrel in getting Sauron to send his armies to the black gate and leave Mt Doom mostly unguarded for Sam and Frodo
>>222876629Imagine getting a starring role in LotR but you die in the first movie, barely anyone remembers you and then the rest of the fellowship form this super strong bond over the awesome trilogy they starred in and will forever be known for but you're always just some sort of outsider to it allthat's soldiering
>>222881757He would probably undergo a character arc about accepting Aragorn as the true king
Sounding the horn gave him strength and vitality bonus, how do you think he survived so long after being hit by 5 arrows or so.
>>222881802I've met a few people who really loved Boromir.I think Legolas is the one nobody really discusses or pays much mind.
>>222881802He's in the extended Two Towers
>>222881776Gr8 b8 m8
>>222881757Aragorn might've gone with Frodo and Sam to Mordor. But he made a promise to Boromir at the moment of his death to go to Gondor instead. If Aragorn doesn't show up in Gondor, Minas Tirith probably falls, since he rallies a whole bunch of men to come with him to save the city. They kill the reinforcing fleet of pirates and then rally the army at a critical point of the battle, when they see his banner on the reinforcing fleet.Had he accompanied the hobbits to Mordor instead, they might have gotten to Mt. Doom much faster though.
>>222881822That's blatantly not true. Legolas has an army of fans. I wanted to be Legolas so bad as a kid, he was always my favorite. I got into archery as a lifelong hobby because of his role. Learned how to make bows from tree to fi ished product and everything. He's cool.
>>222877347Kek, so true.
>>222880431last one got deleted, don't know why
>>222881849That's an interesting idea. I wonder if they could have made it to Mt Doom with Aragorn. Would Smeagol have attacked still? I think that ultimately, Aragorn would have let Frodo go it alone anyways. He respects Frodo's choice even without Boromir. In the films he even says as much to Frodo's face before the orcs attack, but that doesn't happen in the book.
>>222881837for like two seconds
>>222881869>Legolas has an army of fans.*Orlando Bloom has an army of horny fans
>>222881869>he's cool>gets cucked by a dwarflmao
>>222881849They would have gotten caught. A forest ranger's stealthiness can not compare to hobbits with elven cammo.
>>222881869Ur gay.
>Perry doesn't knock the bucket down the well in Balin's Tomb>The Fellowship make it out of Moria unscathed>They easily defeat Sauronmans Urukai and continue on to Mordor where they are quickly detected and eventually overwhelmed by all of Saurons might.Really makes you think.
>>222881980Wouldn't have happened. Gandalf's plan was always "trust in providence to show us the path" AKA he had no plan except literally trust in God, who helped Frodo make it to Mt Doom and who pushed Smeagol in when he was dancing with the Ring. Essentially, it would have been fine as long as Frodo still followed Gandalfs advice. Granted a lot more of then would never have returned home, I wager.
>>222881791They also wouldn't have roused the ents, which is why isengard was taken. The story fits the silmarillion, where evil tries to be discordant with the song of God, but keeps accidentally becoming part of the melody. Every time some misfortune happens it ends up being a net gain. It's why good wizards are good, they see the value of all things and are wise enough to just nudge them in the right position in accordance with GODS will.Iluvatar I mean.
The real hero of lord of the rings is Fatty Bolger, who wasted just enough of the ringwraiths time for Frodo and friends to make it to Bree
Sure Sauron was defeated but just wait till Gondor starts allowing hordes of Mordorian refugees in their territory for cheap labour and starts stripping their citizens of basic rights.
>>222882107He also gets locked up and starved for going against Sharky in the Shire, but this is /tv/ not /lit/...I wish Tom Bombadil was in the movie.
>>222882134Miscegenation weakening Gondor is already part of the story as is.
>>222881980>>222882039LotR is a deeply Christian work. Tolkien's religious views are the core of the story where everything happens for a reason according to fate and the flaws of the characters are the reason why things happen the way they do according to providence.

>>222882179>>222881980Tolkien literally coined the term for "when you end your story with a deus ex machina but it's actually clever and good writing because the Christian God did it instead of a pagan idol"

I'm sorry but the idea of "you have to be nice to this degenerate little monster not because there's still good in him and he might have a change of heart, but because in your moment of weakness the little monster will fully give in to its base nature and accidentally end up helping you" is extremely semetic.

>>222882333There were darker skinned dwarves mentioned in Tolkiens notes. But this isn't what he meant...
>>222882375HOW DO YOU KNOW IF THAT WASNT WHAT TOLKIEN MEANDATS RACIST
>>222882333
Whats the most inconsequential thing that happens in LotR that if it hadn't happened, Sauron would have won?
>>222882374But it's not kindness. It's calculated. Reminds me of that Torah thing about how you should never kill a stranger because he might be beneficial to you in the future, you just don't know it yet. Ironically enough if Smeagol overcame Gollum the Ring wouldn't have gotten destroyed.
>>222882333Black dwarves annoy me but the ghetto nigger haircuts, those make my blood boil. They can't even try to blend them in with the other dwarves, whom they're supposed to share a culture with. They just had to make them stand out as much as possible.
>>222882403By it's very nature that incident would be extremely consequential, if it's absence would result in Sauron's victory. But if you mean the most seemingly innocuous event, I would have to say its Gaffer distracting the Ringwraith right as he's on Frodo's doorstep, before Frodo has even left the Shire. Frodo was nearly captured right at the beginning.
>>222882403sauron cant win. hes a disembodied flaming eye wizard. how the fuck he gonna put on the ring?
>>222882462He didn't need the ring to win. The good guys no longer had a Last Alliance-level army to actually defeat Sauron conventionally. Pelennor Fields was a hail mary and it only managed to stall Sauron temporarily. That's also why they couldn't have just hidden the ring or given it to Bombadil (along with other reasons).
>>222882462the ring magically expands to fit over the giant flaming eye which gives sauron power to take human form again and then the ring shrinks back to normal size ezpz
>>222882434The Torah says to love the stranger because the Jews were once strangers themselves.

>>222882494but arent there a whole bunch of humans in middle earth who arent involved in the LOTR saga at all? and they suffered a lot of uneccesary loses trying to get the ring to mordor. if they just buried it in elfland somewhere the humans would probably figure out a way to win the war.
>>222882554Not only are humans in comparison shit (Last Alliance had elves and superhumies) but humans are also most easily corrupted.
>>222882554>but arent there a whole bunch of humans in middle earth who arent involved in the LOTR saga at all? They either work for Sauron or have no significant military potential.

>>222881802None of that happened to Shawn Bawn, he's the most famous actor of the bunch and his death scene is iconic.
>>222882403An underrated one is the simple fact that Rohan love their horses. Imagine if their traditions had wavered for even one single generation, Sauron would have won the war of the ring. Not because of the Ride of the Rohhirim, but because Rohan's culture was the one place in the world that could result in generations of horse breeding to let Shadowfax be born. Gondor had a strong army but was stationary and didn't bother with breeding horses the way Rohan did. Other kingdoms that did breed horses in similar fashion turned to evil and were willing to give them to Sauron as tribute, but Rohan would never have done such a thing. Because of this, Shadowfax was produced by generations of horse breeding and born at just the right time to give Gandalf just enough speed to just barely travel across middle earth fast enough to just narrowly deliver key messages and orders that allowed so many crucial moments to happen literally at the last possible moment in which victory could still be feasibly achieved. The fact that Gandalf himself was one of the most powerful allies of men during the war is completely irrelevant if he can't get where he's going, and he's only able to perform his role because some random kingdom of horsefuckers happened to produce the most gigachad horse in the history of middle earth at just right point in time. It's crazy how much hinges on Shadowfax's speed.
