What the fuck happened? Spielberg had a good track record with alien films.
>>
The thing is he was never good. He was just promoted because he's part of the vampiric, baby eating pedophile elite ring.

His sentimental, universalist "muh love always triumphs" gimmick is very worn out. No one cares about "wonder" anymore. It worked 30 years ago but no one believes it now. It's tired.

Just look at the success of the cynical and subversive Odyssey. A film with the heart ripped out of it, with no serious characterisation. That's what people want now, SS is old hat and continues via inertia cos of his name power.

His last alien film was twenty years ago and it was considered mediocre at the time, though personally I liked War of the Worlds.

Close Encounters always sucked

name two

He ran out of ghost writers

He kinda doesn’t. Spielberg’s only good films are Jaws, Hook, and Schindlers List. That’s more good films than most directors, but when you look at how many films he has directed, it’s a piss poor batting average, making him possibly the shittiest big name director.

>a guy named SS directed the holocoaster movie
haha, epic

Jaws
Indiana Jones and the Crystal Skull

Spielberg has suprisingly few good movies. A handful, AT MOST. It might even be only three with Jurassic Park being one.

Close Encounters was actually midcore
This is him making Close Encounters again but he's borderline senile

Disclosure Day is not an alien film though.

it was a shit movie. But am i the only one who got taken out of this shitty movie even more with how much this movie wanted to brag with over the top difficult cinematography shots. Weird long takes with 20 spins, camera moving through fences, spinning around the person, going 20x through a car. We got it, we got it. Seems like Spielberg and the DP spend all their time planning over the top long scenes instead of working on the retarded script.
