It's puzzling how the first game got things so right and everything after has been an ever worsening trainwreck. The planets must have aligned in 2015.

The original was also good, but I really enjoyed the lesbian one. It was a special time for me the days I played it. These games have a real substance to them, dealing with suicide, friendship, romance, death, suffering. I also really like the games where you can choose what to do and it'll change what happens. Then the game judges your actions. It also makes the game more personal when it reacts well to hard choices you make. I felt like it had a few of those moments at least. Emotional. More games need to utilize these psychological factors. There are more of them that have never been used in any game.
