How do you respond without sounding like a mad midwit incel?

Calvin and Hobbs actually REALLY profound
the “tiger” represents the last uncorrupted fragment of the human spirit resisting the epistemological violence of adulthood, while Calvin himself embodies the neurodivergent awakening of the individual consciousness confronting an indifferent universe
Watterson basically invented a visual language for the alienation of modern man and disguised it as a newspaper comic so normies would accidentally read philosophy

Hey guys, I moved my eyes across a page, one word to the next, just like we do a bajillion times daily with our phones and computers. Am I intelligent and sophisticated or what!?
>>
>>222902704
It's kino, that's for sure.
>>
>>222902731
Moby Dick is one of the best novels ever written. I often wonder when I see comments like this if it's typical 4chan contrarians or if the great American writers like Poe and Thoreau are too recent for universal acclaim. The latter option doesn't make much sense because 4chan loves Dostoevsky and everybody loves Dickens. I agree about McCarthy, he's extremely overrated. I'm genuinely curious, what novels do you like?
>>
>>222902530
But he's correct. You're wasting your time and potential by consuming this mindless entertainment when you could be expanding your mind by pondering the words of expressive, literary philosophy. Consider the human condition instead of whether Superman could beat up Goku, or ponder the meaning of worldly struggle instead of whether Ja'Quancalculus will escape from the police.
>>
Why do readers think they are on the same level as the rest of us artists? I'm a writer and do 2D/3D art. Your passive hobby is not comparable to me. You posses no talent. I consider an author to be intelligent, not you and your ability to comprehend his thoughts. Begone, peasants.
>>
>>222902981
>Consider the human condition
And what would that accomplish?
>>
>>222902530
Wow what a great actor, he cares nothing for the work he has done. Even worse, he looks down on it... can't wait to book this actor...
>>
>>222902981
>Hey guys, this one dude had brilliant thoughts and ideas
>I listened to what he had to say. I guess I'm smart now!

Not how intelligence works. There are those that learn how to do something from others, and those that explore their own intelligent mind. When I was a kid, I remember laying on my bed wondering how the hell I could see stuff. I laid there thinking that the objects are far away and yet somehow my eyeballs could see them. It made no sense to me and thought about how they got into my eye. I was just a kid and I was already on my way to understanding light because I couldn't just take shit at face value.

Books are very useful things, but they are too often used as some badge morons wear to prove intelligence they don't actually have. You should have the urge to seek knowledge. It's not constrained to old books. We have the internet. But nobody looks smart and cool by saying they read online science journals. At the end of the day, though, you're either smart or you're not. You either have a brain that can think for itself and problem solve, or you do not. I've never seen some dumb gorilla nigger with a 60IQ read a bunch of books and suddenly grow a brain capable of theoretical physics.
>>
>>222903129
>Not how intelligence works.
Yes it is.
>>
>>222903142
Good counterargument. Made this an easy concession.
>>
>>222902530
>Crime and Punishment by Dostoevsky, Blood Meridian or Moby Dick?

Yeah I read that stuff in high school. What have you read lately?
>>
>>222902644
Its gonna do everything 5 did but better. If you dont like recent GTA than yeah why be excited but if you've enjoyed the series its going to be the highest quality most real life like version yet

>>
>>222903481
it 100% is going to have massive amounts of shotty work in the open world and nobody is going to care because the actual gamers left the series 13 years ago when 5 turned out to be trash
>>
>>222902530
if he doesn't care why do I see him in videos at gaming cons? surely he doesn't need the money
>>
Just finished reading The Odyssey so now I can see the movie.
>>
>>222902530
I mean GTA 6 will be more of the same of the previous GTA's. I'm not crazy excited
>>
>>222902530
I enjoy reading but it doesn't mean I enjoy other things any less. Thinking reading makes you smarter is kind of a midwit thing to do
