It’s your duty to go see coyote vs acme just to give a middle finger to the studio exes . Also it’s a good movie.

Into the TRASH it goes, if you wanna do a Roger Rabbit style movie, keep the classic cartoon characters 2D

Can you explain to me how paying money to see a movie gives a "middle finger" to studio execs?

Why would I want to pay them money to give them the middle finger when I can just watch anime instead and give them an even BIGGER middle finger FOR FREE?

I actually like the studios. They studios oversaw some of the best eras of filmmaking. What has Netflix brought us?
>>
>>222930043
Disney and other studios killed hand drawn animation because the people in that field were trying to unionize and get better treatment. So there was a heavy push for fully cgi films once Toy Story and Shrek were successful. Not calling those films bad, just that if those films failed, we might've had hand drawn for a couple more years.

Plus CGI is cheaper and takes less time.
>>
>>222930826
>Massive campaign to have it released because "muh artists"
Lmao no one was really wanted it to be released because they thought it was worth seeing. 99% of the people who wanted to watch it just wanted to see how bad of a trainwreck it was to get completely shelved by a studio after being finished.

Shouldn't you just watch for enjoyment, pr because the plot interests you? Why must everyb action be 'middle finger' to someone or something?
>>
>>222929904
Overall very good. Worst problem was using 3D instead of 2D, but I understand why they did it that way. And it's only an issue if it specifically annoys you that it's not 2D. I mean, Back In Action's animation was good, and it was a shit movie

I thought it was like a 5.5 out of 10, but that's almost entirely owing to the gag comedy. I applaud they tried to have a moral heartbeat with the theme of 'don't give up' but the trappings ring hollow when his 'victory' just leads back to more wage slaving at the law firm, no wife, no family, his future now a class action lawsuit against acme that he also won't win because acme still has the legal manpower and economic resources he doesn't have, so it will end in a settlement like all class action lawsuits usually do. So ironically he still will 'settle'. And this is ignoring the fact the congressional hearing failure did still bankrupt him.

Modern film has this issue of either having no moral to their stories at all, or if it does have one, they don't know how to properly execute it or build it in a way that makes sense and reaches the heart of the audience. Writers and directors today have lost touch with the source of storytelling and how to tell effective, moving stories that are cathartic for an audience. Like 2 movies a year do it right, only one I saw do it this year was MOTOR CITY. That was like perfect story telling.

I think the ending implied they would be good with all the new clients wanting to sue acme.

The main lawyer should have ended up with the thick Asian, or maybe some milf that he meets at a bar association dinner. IDK get Sydney Sweeney or some look a like to say she likes a man with the balls to take on the big dogs.

How come every CGI film takes ten years and 400 million dollars
>>
>>222936480
>I think the ending implied they would be good with all the new clients wanting to sue acme.
I know, I said that, but that's still not a real.future: an avalanch of clients he can't all possibly represent just to go back into another grimd-it-out lawsuit with a major corporation who has more manpower and money than him. So the message is 'hey look ypu did lose that one lawsuit and bet embarrassed at a congresional hearing, but now you have all these toons you can represent to do the same thing again'. His life is still empty. He's still poor and has no one. Even coyote leaves him to go back to his life because Coyote actually has purpose.

Are you understanding my point? The filmmakers knew they needed some moral but it had no real subatance to it. The movie felt like a decent 1st draft but needed a lot more refining.

>>222936545
This, once they got their process down Disney was churning out hand drawn films in like 24 to 30 months in the 90s from pre production to release. Pinnochio had some pioneering animation tech for it's time and that took 3 years.

What are you talking about? The ending literally shows Acme's downfall after more evidence was released. He won
>>
>>222936828
That's still bad story telling. Exposition in a newsreel montage? Find some creative way to encorporate it into the pre-trial or actual trial. Just more lazy writing from modern Hollywood. And he still lost, he still gains very little in the end. His life is exactly the same, just with more clients.

To be fair Warner shelving full finished movies just for some quick tax cash should be illegal and it's a very bad precedent for the rest of the industry.
If the very writers, directors and producers of a movie don't think it could be released, then what's the fucking point? Also, that's their fucking problem, not the public, and the cowards should bite the bullet and release as it is. Yeah, the movie will bomb? So what? Take the L and call it a day.

Yeah a little editing to better reinforce the don't be afraid of failure message. IDK have the lawyer be an alcoholic or something that only takes the settlement cases because its easy work and he lives in the motel because he is afraid of long term commitment with a girl. Show him taking his newfound confidence and going on like 7 first dates before he meets a QT lawyer then time skip to them playing in a backyard with a kid or something

Yeah, it's kinda weird to think of watching a Looney Tunes movie as "sticking it to the man". But the entire story behind the release hinges on the fact that everyone knew Will was going to crush this role, and deserved the Warner Brother's legacy. He's so damn funny, so damn likable (in his own idiosyncratic way), and was born for a role like this.
