>You know what she did? Your cunting daughter?
Why did the devil have a cockney accent?
>>

I remember watching this and being disappointed by how silly and non scary it was, I dunno if that's due the version I watched (Extended Director's cut) or if the theatrical cut was pretty much the same
>>
>>222931473
One of my fondest childhood memories is watching this movie with my sister and both of us just laughing our asses off at every scene. We were genuinely crying with laughter, to this day it’s one of the most unintentionally hilarious movies I’ve ever watched. What made it all the funnier is how much the boomer and Gen X generation built it up as just the scariest, most horrifying movie ever, and then after all that build up we finally watch it and it’s just completely ridiculous slapstick comedy
>>
>>222931615
Horror movies aren't scary past the age of 12.
>>
>>222931676
I just watched obsession and I was genuinely creepy. same with hereditary, undertone, smile 1/2, and the dark and the wicked were all recent horror movies that were scary. Smile 2 specifically was really good and super underrated,
I’m a big horror fan though, and being scared isn’t the only appeal, it’s the overall sense of dread, and empathizing with characters in horrible situations, and I’m a huge fan of gore personally, that icky feeling is like a rollercoaster, it’s exciting, movies like the wailing, when evil lurks, the blaire witch project, the evil dead remake and rise, and suspiria aren’t scary but so the dread and gore really well.
Other movies like The Thing, Alien, The Substance, Evil Dead 2, and Pearl are just great movies even though they’re not scary.
>>
The Exorcist is only scary if you're either very christian or raised very christian.
>>
>>222931615
No shit it isn’t scary. It was made over 50
years ago when there was nothing like it. Same way i’m sure when people first saw Boris Karloff as Frankenstein in 1931 it freaked them the fuck out. Soon as a horror character or story gets popularized it stops being scary. Sure their will be tons of Obsession spoofs

The difference in time is getting to the point that us mocking people for getting scared of The Exorcist is like boomers mocking people from running out of theatre of L'Arrivée d'un train en gare de La Ciotat
>>
>>222931431
That movie scared the SHIT out of me as a kid. The idea that a demon could just come along and fuck your shit up was something that really fucked with me.

>>
>>222931615
i don't think you know what slapstick comedy actually is if you think characters getting slapped a few times automatically makes something slapstick
>>
>>222934327
We weren’t coping lol, it was genuinely hilarious
>>222934409
It had nothing to do with the slapping, every set piece had the demon girl acting like a literal cartoon character. She was literally bugs bunny
>>
>>222931615
Things that never happened for 2 cents.

>>222931431
She just murdered the movie director of her mom. The devil after killing someone absorbs all their memories and accent and mannerisms etc.

Read the fookin book

that still doesn't make it slapstick nigger learn what words mean before you use them

i think you and your sister are probably just autistics if that's how it comes across to you but whatever floats your boat

It actually fits the definition perfectly you needlessly combative, triggered, retard asshole
lol
>>
>>222935246
>had to use ai to look it up for him
context matters the exaggerated movements refers to something like the three stooges theres nothing like that in exorcist
slapstick is not just when you laugh at someone for getting hurt
>>
>>222935332
The exorcist is literally and unintentionally a series of 3 stooges skits
It fits the definition perfectly and I used it perfectly in my post before I ever googled it to confirm that I had used it perfectly
The scene where her head spins around, the scene on the staircase where she crawls down backwards, the scene where she barfs all over the guy, it’s pure slapstick comedy. I’m sorry you’re a triggered christcuck and we’re crying yourself to sleep after seeing it, but it was very funny to me
>>
>>222935470
>The exorcist is literally and unintentionally a series of 3 stooges skits
I don't know what this means because I'm not autistic and don't care about century old B/W comedy much less as a point of reference. Are you also one of those freaks that has a hyper fixation with clowns and not a Juggalo
>>
>>222935562
The possessed girl acts like a cartoon character from an old slapstick comedy and her interactions with the other actors are literal slapstick comedy routines, it was unintentional but when you see it you can’t unsee it.
It’s the perfect word to describe this movie and you’re just triggered as fuck because you thought it was scary lol
>>
>>222931615
I've laughed at every old movie that people claim is scary. Exorcist, Jaws, Psycho, Amityville, they're all schlock retardation with shit effects, terrible acting, and the most obvious and tryhard attempts at jumpscares. People claim today's generations are weak pussy bitches but they don't piss and shit themselves at this kind of dreck like the old farts did.
>>
>>222935470
>literally and unintentionally
oxymoron
>perfectly in my post before I ever googled it to confirm that I had used it perfectly
you seem pretty fragile honestly
>The scene where her head spins around
exaggerated movement obviously since thats not physically possible but not slapsticky
>the scene on the staircase where she crawls down backwards
see above
>the scene where she barfs all over the guy
its slapsticky in scary movie 2 which parodied it
>it’s pure slapstick comedy.
unfortunately comedy doesnt just mean because you and your autistic sister laugh at inapppropriate moments
>I’m sorry you’re a triggered christcuck
im not religious i just get slightly annoyed when tone deaf autists lack this much self awareness and use words they dont understand diluting the language
by all means laugh to your hearts content at whatever you want
>>
>>222935562
How you handling the autism diagnosis dude?

You know those tv posters, they can be very insightful
>>
>>222935470
>A demon has possessed me and literally controls my stomach and my colon and intestines
>its not letting me digest my food
>its making me secrete acid into my bare stomach and burn the linings as I regurgitate
>i can feel the pain but can't move my body
>it makes me barf up said stomach acid
>i barf although I haven't eaten a single thing in 12 days

Nice slapstick comedy dumbass. Hope you and your sister get some therapy.
>>
>>222931431
Shit aint bussin frfr.
>>
>>222935782
>oxymoron
it’s not, you’re the one that doesn’t know what words mean lol death of the author and all that
>you seem fragile
incredible amounts of projection right here lol
>not slapsticky
It absolutely is lol
>see above
both scenes are pure slapstick
>inappropriate moments
oh no no no he took this hilarious movie seriously. he was actually scared. he probably cried. lmao
>tone deaf
I know what tone they were going for, they failed spectacularly and created a comedy instead
>self awareness
>words they don’t understand
from the hypocrite who doesn’t know what oxymoron means
I understand perfectly what slapstick comedy is and this movie is slapstick comedy. It’s literal bugs bunny. It’s tom and Jerry. It’s a cartoon and it scares you and millions of others and I find that hilarious
> by all means laugh to your hearts content at whatever you want
now I’m just laughing at you and your pathetic triggered posts lmao
>>
>>222935866
it was hilarious, yes, your point?
the only one that needs therapy is the christcuck that probably had nightmares from this silly movie. I imagine it’s real scary for choir boys like you that think this stuff is real, for the rest of us who know it’s just a movie, we can laugh at the unintentional humor
>>
This guy baited all of you well.
>>
>>222935943
If you found this movie hilarious as an adult, thats cool.

As kids? That's fucked up. You need therapy.
>>
>>222936060
oh you poor thing
I bet you empathized with the characters
I bet you felt their pain
you poor thing
are you sweating? do you need a towel? You should always remember to bring a towel.
take a tissue, it’s ok to cry
>>
>>222935907
>keeps calling everyone else triggered
>keeps using lol and lmao in every post calling out his arrested development like some kind of ironic layer shielding his fragile little ego
>claims hes not fragile but still feels the need to say how much he totally understands concepts he keeps misusing and totally didnt actually need to use ai because hes so smart and sure of himself but did it anyway because reasons
>keeps making comparisons to looney tunes like thats supposed to make him come off as less autistic and tone deaf
>still doesnt understand what slapstick means
>all that projection
man you are really seething right now and not doing a very good job of hiding it
but youre right about one thing i did misread the word literally as deliberately at first thats my bad
anyway have a nice day autist and say hi to your retarded sister for me
>>
>>222936411
jeez, that’s one big triggered essay about how triggered you are.
I didn’t misuse any concepts or words.
The exorcist is literally looney toons.
I used slapstick perfectly and understood what it meant perfectly before I used AI to prove my point to you.
I accept your seething concession you triggered, snowflake crybaby little boy that’s scared of looney tunes movies lmao
>>
>>222936534
John wick is also slapstick according to you? Retard
>>
>>222936689
No, that’s an action movie.
The exorcist is a style of humor featuring exaggerated physical activity, absurd mishaps, and make-believe violence.
if you’re wondering, that’s the exact definition of slapstick comedy, which perfectly fits the exorcist.
Did you have nightmares after watching it? did you cry like a little baby? does it still haunt your waking moments? you poor thing, need a hug?
>>
>>222933231
Satan took her virginity. No guy's happy about sloppy 2nds
>>
>>222933231
She's also set up to be someone's daughter. Ellen Burnstyn is relatable so they are more human than just characters.
>>
>>222931615
This is the most obvious example of something hitting very different based on your age group that I know of. Millennials are probably so desensitized to swearing and body horror that it just becomes an absurd comedy, whereas to older people it was genuinely shocking.

I wish someone studied that shit properly, it's very interesting.
>>
>>222936740
>horror movie
>style of humor

You are extremely retarded BUT one thing though the writer William Peter blatty was originally a comedy writer and it was meant as a comedy novel at first but he decided to change it up after collecting notes about actual exorcisms.

It's a medical horror/supernatural thriller not slapstick.

Godfathers main theme by nino rota also sounds funny to you? He had his Oscar cancelled because admittedly he stole it from a theme he made for a comedy sketch.

But since it's modified it's no longer humor.

Why can't your retarded ass understand that
>>
>>222932186
If you're going to shitpost, at least come up with something that hasn't been posted 1000 times already.
>>
>>222936847
There is a very good term for it when someone clearly lacks the intelligence and frame of reference to correctly perceive and interpret what is being shown to them in a piece of media, but unfortunately it's been co-opted and is now associated with pretentiousness. I desperately try not to use it, but I wish there was as good of an alternative. Though to be honest, misperceptions as outrageous as that imbecile proclaims borders on delusion, I sincerely hope it's just a troll.
>>
>>222936874
It’s unintentionally funny you absolute fucking dumbass lol
obviously it wasn’t intended to be comedy, but it still is regardless. That’s what unintentional comedy is you twat.
It’s really amusing how absurdly triggered you are by this, unintentionally funny horror movies is an entire unintentional genre, there’s plenty of funny horror movies out there if you have the right sense of humor. Clearly a stuck up retarded prude such as yourself doesn’t understand
>>
>>222937293
God you’re such a triggered snowflake
>noooo u can’t laugh at my horror movie it’s supposed to be scary and horrifying noooooo u just don’t understand the genre you just don’t get it noooo stop laughing nooo
lmao
>>
>>222931473
Maybe I'm autistic but the idea of possession is always funny. I'd be like "Hey Satan or whoever you are, at the end of the day you're still a retard trapped in hell. Keep seething bro. LMAO. What are you gonna do with the weak body of a little girl? Diddy blud nigga."
>>
>>222932140
