It should be more like Stargate SG-1 or something. The home base should have character, Alpha-5 and Zordon should have more support and they should have add in pro-active missions. They should defend the base more. The fear of losing it and their connection to Zordon should be the source of a constant low hum anxiety, often complicating the plot and causing the team to split into 2 squads. They should have a non-zero relationship with the govt, they should probably receive some funding, and all politics/real worldism can be funneled into one Military Guy character who is always trying to push them into certain actions or put his foot down to veto Zordon's decisions.

And the market and marketing was changed from the top down to help push and realize that lie.
