>finds doakes is dead
>immediately goes home not giving a shit and fucks his girlfriend carefree during a montage
>has no remorse
>is completely fine with a innocent dead man taking the fall and blame for his actions, not even alive to defend himself
How is this guy supposed to be at all likeable after this point? theres no coming back from that, Are they really gonna try to root for this guy or think he's not a bady guy for 6 more seasons?

Makes more sense when you treat it as a comedy

He isn't and never was. Dexter is a fucking RETARDED character. He's murdering scum just like everyone he kills and the fact is the series should've ended with some sicko putting him on the table just because, not out of any insane moral delusion.
>>
but he killed the horse faced bitch
>>
he felt bad and killed the titty vampire and felt bad some more
i didn't watch s3 but i'm sure he muses on it at least a bit

Doakes was an unlikeable nigger while Dexter is a handsome vigilante. All you need to know.

To be fair, Doakes was a raging fucking asshole

From what I remember, the voiceover indicates that he recognises how unjust that is but doesn't necessarily feel anything about it. The show presents him as a high functioning sociopath despite his 'moral code', which is really just the idea of morality that Harry instructed him to live by, rather than something he actually understands in the same way human beings capable of empathy do.
>>
i mean he did feel conflicted enough to flip flop about what he was gonna do while doakes was alive
what was he meant to do once doakes died?
bring him back to life?
sure it wasn't ideal but it was a problem solved nonetheless and there's no point getting worked up about it
especially with what an asshole doakes was
>>
Dexter was lot more sociopathic in early seasons. Like in the first season, he saw the Ice Truck Killer as an interesting rival, he was never shocked by his kills. In Resurrection, he sees the other killers' murder videos and is actually shaken.

Cause hes a serial killer, he isn't suppose to be moral.
Season 7 is underrated especially because Dexter learns he should just own being a piece of shit monster and not try to justify it.
