The only inherently religious thing about Big Brother is putting multiple people from different backgrounds and religions into one house for 3 months. It is beyond inappropriate that Julie brings her Christianity into the conversation at every opportunity from eviction interviews, outside interviews, or even just closing the show. A show that is known for lying, scheming, gossiping, and manipulation….Correct me if I’m wrong, but there is no other show, let alone a competition reality show, where the host is so vocal about their religion to the audience and contestants. Julie’s sermons have become a funny bit at this point to many people (and it is funny, we are literally laughing at her for how ridiculous she sounds) but it is ultimately unprofessional and Julie has gotten far too comfortable in a position handed to her. A position that, in my opinion, she is STILL trying to find her footing in still as a personality, 25 yrs later.Who, if anyone, is actually resonating with her god talk? Do actual Christians like that she brings god into conversations about Big Brother in a way to seemingly spread the “good news”? I’m here to watch BB not watch Julie make contestants uncomfortable with god talk exit interviews or awkward preachy comments. Hell, RHAP did a BB interview with Julie, who should be discussing the show, and in an 8 min interview she diverts the conversation so far away from BB almost instantly to talk about god and pulls out a pocket Jesus. What else can you talk about in an interview for BB though if you hardly keep up with the actual contestants Julie Chen is a zealot and religious fanatic. It is so clear she is/was overcompensating for her husband, Les Moonves, after his sexual misconduct came to light. I wish we as a community vocally criticized her more for this, because it really is weird and unacceptable (even outside of the husband context).
