Read Dostoevsky.
>>
Suck my Dicksky.
>>
imagine being mindbroken by trevor
>>
Read two
Dostoyevsky is boring btw, only pseuds like him
>>
I did. Crime and Punishment, and Notes From Underground were great, the latter kinda disconcerting in its relatability. Also read The Idiot, and while the change of pace was nice in theory, it was exactly my cup of tea-- Dostoevsky isn't known for his succinctness but it was tedious in The Idiot. My conclusion after reading it was that the protagonist was ultimately indeed an Idiot, and I never found him particularly christ-like or even endearing.
>>
The word performative is thrown around a lot these days, but this is super performative
>>
>>223038540
What if I like GTA and thought crime and punishment was alright? Also why did he agree to voice Trevor if he's too pretentious to try a video game? Money?
>>
>>223038540
If you haven't read the original Russian it doesn't count
>>
>>223038540
Why does he hate Trevor so muvh
>>
>>223038975
Video games are the lowest form of art because it has built in skinner box to keep people engaged, he is pissed off he got famous for doing something emberessing
>>
>>223038975
because it's his only good performance and he hasn't lived up to it since
>>
>>223038975
Seems more like he just doesn't really care and since you are so in love, you take his apathy as hate.
>>
>>223038561
Oh!!!! Fucking Shakespearean retort.
>>
>>223038702
>>223038734
>>223038975
It was a role and he doesnt like being typecast. Sameway Henry Winkler doesnt like being the fonz or mike Myers hates hearing do i make you randy, baby.

>I'M SO FUCKING ABOVE VIDEO GAMES WHY DO GAMERS *spits* KEEP COMING UP TO ME
>is literally at a gaming convention advertising his role in a video game
this guy is a particular brand of vile pseudo-intellectual cunt I'd pay to see run over by a train
>>
>>223039343
Or is he just acting like the Trevor they deserve?
>>
>>223039343
Its a entertainment convention but he doesnt like video games. Keifer Sutherland, elle fanning n g and lea seydoux have not beat any Kojima game but they like the roles in his work.
>>
>>223039368
So tsundere.
>>
>>223039343
That level of condradiction is honestly kind of based. Basically giving a big fuck you to the people who butter his bread.
>>
>>223039414
He still likes fans and needs money, just not only his most famous role.
>>
>>223039291
>I want all of the benefits of fame with none of the negatives
sorry faggots, doesn't work like that.

Sorry, fanboy, It goes both ways.

Ah, but dont you see raskolnokovian aspect of trevor personality?
Grandeur, narcicissm, the inability to accept that his premises may be wrong - I think gta5 is actually a very dostoevskian game and you are merely pretending to be above something that you clearly dont even understand.

>>
>>223040041
How is he full of shit, you actually think that people who don't play video games actually give a fuck about gta6?
>>
I have read Crime and Punishment. I've also played GTA V. Crime and Punishment was probably the better experience.

No, I'd hesitate to say it was better than GTA IV, though. Which just so happens to jave a mission named Crime and Punishment.
>>
>>223038540
People like this make their name and fame on the back of a franchise then try to pretend they're above it. What an ungrateful fuck.
>>
>>223038540
>Negro putting midwits in their place.
My kinda coon.
>>
>>223038540
You could read something fun too.
I just finished a short story from the 60s about a computer that wants to initiate world war 3 because it thinks a gumball merchant from california is the antichrist.
>>
>>223040145
>reading for entertainment instead of reading for knowledge or wisdom
Read Dostoevsky.
>>
>>223040164
I already have.
Now you have to read PKD.
>>
>>223040145
Sorry, I am just not going to take seriously the opinion of some sadistic retard who humors end of world scenarios and global annihilation for fun. Don't you have some fun self harming to do instead of exposing the rest of us to your maliciousness?
>>

Fine, where do i start?

But I have read Crime and Punishment

Read Dostoevsky.

Three Stigmata of Palmer Eldritch's a decent place. Could try Scanner Darkly, the movie based on it is pretty good, too.
>>
>>223040164
>>223040247
Hey redditor poser, just a reminder that if you didn't read the original Russian versions you haven't actually read him :)

Dont listen to OP. Dostoevsky is extremely boring christcuck garbage.

Did you like it?

For me it's joseph conrad:
We are accustomed to look upon the shackled form of a conquered monster, but there—there you could look at a thing monstrous and free.
>>
>>223040361
>He thinks I didn't
Read Dostoevsky.
>>
>>223038540
Reading Crime and Punishment is indeed much cheaper than Gta 6, which doesn't even look good. Better yet, AI Dostoevsky
>for free
into Gta 6 and you get better product. Video games suck shit.

>>223040519
>AI Dostoevsky
It's Fyodor pleb

I did, although I slightly dislike the heavy handed moralizing. But that's just his style. I liked the Idiot far more, the moral lessons there seemed more naturally presented.
>>
Was Raskolnikov's sister fucking the serial killer guy that kills himself? There was a translators note in the edition I read about her accidentally calling him by an endearing name, hinting that she probably sucked his dick, but I assume the nuance didn't really translate well into English.
>>
>>223040655
Just dangling that pussy in front of him I think.
>>
>>223040653
Fair enough. It was my only Dostojewski so far and didn't really know what to expect. Found it kind of interesting as a study of characters who are all, at least broadly, kinds of people who still exist, even though I'm fortunate enough to barely have to interact with them. I also found it somewhat funny how brief the narration is, compared to how meandering the conversations and inner monologues are.

Also, I dunno, some of the antagonistic characters, particularly Luschin, just felt a bit exaggerated. Although that might have something to do with the fact that the translation I read made a point of transcribing them laughing as "Hehehe" which just made me imagine them cackling like moustache twirling cartoon villains.

>>223040655
I think it was strongly suggested that they had an affair while she was working for him.
>>
>acting like it's some obscure author
Might as well tell people to read Nietzsche or listen to Bach. Somebody tell unc this is not the flex he thinks it is.
>>
>>223040721
>it was strongly suggested that they had an affair while she was working for him
I also got that impression

He and all the other actors got paid a flat rate fee of about $75'000, while the game went on to make Rockstar billions for over a decade.

Its like Harrison Ford. I'd do the same, take some fat pay checks then shit all over the franchise and its fans.

Gta v isnt even good

Exactly, just say Pushkin if you want that street cred.

>>223038540
Crime and punishment is hit dogshit for pseuds
There's a saying "the crime is buying the book and the punishment is having to read it" I have hundreds of books and it is without a doubt the worst I've ever finished

>lowest form of art
That is the most retarded shit ever said.
If there is an art form that is lowest one could say photography because all the photographer is doing is taking a picture of something, extremely basic. Then you could say the same for movies which are just moving pictures but there can be art in it and things like acting or set design is an art form.
Vidya has all of the above and then some.
music, animation, creation, concept art, fucking engine coding is a high level art form. Well beyond anything like fucking painting. Plus it takes years and potentially 100s of people.
Vidya on an art scale is the absolute tip top, it encompasses all other art forms and then has much more complexities in of itself than any of the other artforms themselves or combined.

Your post was a mid wit post.
