In the Dubya era Hicks's shows acquired currency again, with 9/11 truthers taking a particular interest, but many of us in that generation were obliged to point out that the guy just wasn't funny. And not only was he not funny, he also had cringelord tendencies and took himself too seriously, dressing up as a preacher and reciting aggrandizing poems about himself before his shows. Fuck off.
