it's baffling to me, the monkeys paw is a classic story and since it was published we have seen it hundreds of times in different shows across all genres for decades, "be careful with what you wish" kinda story with all context variants and actors involved, yet this new generation of viewers don't know about it? it's so "new" to them that they raise this movie as a masterpiece? really? because the moment you start asking questions it all falls apart, like for instance where does that curse come from? witchery? from who? also the vendors, if they know about the wish thing, why do they keep selling them? and super cheap? it has happened before, people complaining about them, and nobody expose this shit publicly?
5/10, mid, great performances from bear and inde, specially inde, she tole the show, as it should since the premise falls over this character's shoulders and she was great as a beautiful but creepy girl, that's the best you will get from this slop

Movie starts with main guy (retarded pussy) coming home to find his cat deceased on the floor surrounded by pills. I think the implication is it got in the broken cabinet and knocked shit over, but it looked staged and I don’t think a cat would eat pills. One thing the movie does is have this subtle undertone that the main guy is being pranked by his friends or set up for some gruesome scam or something so it looked like the cat was maybe killed intentionally.

He fucks up first when Ian is giving him genuinely good advice, but I can give him reasonable doubt at this point. I'd argue the moment he really becomes awful is when he asks why it's bad to be with him when Nikki's suffering to the point of wanting to die, rather than saying he can't do that or something else sane.

But at most, he's an accomplice. To call him THE main villain gives him too much credit. A coward and a retard, sure, but he never quite reaches villain levels.
