What did you guys honestly think of Obsession?
I didn't watch it
Overall it’s pretty good, Inde carries it. It’s funnier than it is scary, almost Raimi esque.
>>223183006It's fine, lots of really good framing and creative cinematography which gets complimented by the solid acting. This weird internet-culture war people started around it is completely absurd. There is zero social commentary in this movie because all characters are very specific and unique and don't work as a metaphor for any group of people.
Still haven’t seen it, but hear that it’s PEAK ZOOMERisms across the board. Probably why it’s preforming so well.
>>223183006>Zoomete's worst nightmare: Getting with a friendzoned guyKek
>>223183006It's good.
>>223183076Not really, it's a rather classic story in the vein of the sorcerers apprentice.
>>223183006I really liked it
Good movie with an actual good female actor, to bad she is going to get sucked down the hollywood drain and ruin her expressions with plastic surgery. She already deleted her Twitch and despite what she says I know it was some agent telling her to do so because directors don't like independent woman
>>223183006Couldn't stand the men's wardrobe choices. Do real over 18 men REALLY wear such trash?!
>>223183006it's pretty good
>>223183006it's baffling to me, the monkeys paw is a classic story and since it was published we have seen it hundreds of times in different shows across all genres for decades, "be careful with what you wish" kinda story with all context variants and actors involved, yet this new generation of viewers don't know about it? it's so "new" to them that they raise this movie as a masterpiece? really? because the moment you start asking questions it all falls apart, like for instance where does that curse come from? witchery? from who? also the vendors, if they know about the wish thing, why do they keep selling them? and super cheap? it has happened before, people complaining about them, and nobody expose this shit publicly? 5/10, mid, great performances from bear and inde, specially inde, she tole the show, as it should since the premise falls over this character's shoulders and she was great as a beautiful but creepy girl, that's the best you will get from this slop
bump
I think bear was the real monster in this movie
Inde Navarrette ia an industry plant/
>>223183006Great movie.Sure if you overthink it you can poke holes in the script but most movie are like that.Don't like the culture war around it.Indi is great hope she can keep this kind of preformance. It's a take on the monkeypawn stories.
Bear isn't the villain until like last few minutes where he does horrible shit to Nikki knowing she's suffering inside. Before that how could he have known that literal demonic posession and magical wish items exist and work? Not to mention even once he learns of it, why not lean in? As far as he knows, if he now rejects the demonic advances he might end up in eternal hell and torment himself.
>>223183006OverratedJust another monkey's paw movie
>>223183006I heard a cat dies in it so I can't watch it I'm affraid.
>>2231830066/10 film10/10 ragebait
curry barker originally had bear ordering shirley temples at the barzoomers are so cringe that it hurts
>>223185898The cat death makes no sense at all how the fuck did it get into sealed pill bottles?
>>223185947Chekov's bottle opener
>>223184627You're focusing too much on the monkey's paw device over the satirical take on unhealthy relationships, which is what's actually resonating with people. The disparity between the idealization of a romantic interest vs. the reality; being so afraid of being alone that they put up with horrific behavior; trying to be mature and voice their concerns only to get brushed off.On the logic of it all, its implied in his websearches that the sticks were obscure to the point that its existence was doubtful so maybe it shows up briefly in these small shops. Otherwise, i guess it's magic aint gotta explain shit.
>>223183006I honestly thought it was terrible
>>223183006It's boring a predictable as fuck, I saw every little beat coming from a mile away, from her feeding the dead cat to the incel to the joke about the money wish stolen from The Sneedsons. 0.5/10, fuck you broccoli heads for making me waste my time.
>>223185947Qrd? As a lover of the aristocratic felines I obviously can't watch a movie where one dies. Did the cat overdose or something? Is the cat on drugs?
>>223186145Movie starts with main guy (retarded pussy) coming home to find his cat deceased on the floor surrounded by pills. I think the implication is it got in the broken cabinet and knocked shit over, but it looked staged and I don’t think a cat would eat pills. One thing the movie does is have this subtle undertone that the main guy is being pranked by his friends or set up for some gruesome scam or something so it looked like the cat was maybe killed intentionally.
>>223186341I hate modern movies so much
>>223183006Movie survives off of characters having retarded decision making. When it became obvious Nikki was possessed by some kind of demon and it was clearly dangerous, he still has a casual conversation right outside his house with another girl and the predictable happens. Shit like this just takes me out
>>223183010fpbp, exclusively watching movies through /tv/ threads is the go to
>>223183006surface level bpdemon cautionary tale cleverly hiding stealth kino exposing women for their ugliest inner selves and incapability to take accountability for anything ever when theres a introverted man she can heap all blame onto instead

>>223188211Weak bait or you’re retarded
Haven't seen it, so nothing. I am sick and tired of seeing this goblina spammed on this board though.
>>223183006It's a good insight into the true nature of females, and a reminder to stay strong #MGTOW
>>223188247You saw midsommer as a happy movie baby raper
>>223188345WTF you talking about you idiot sperg
>>223188371I can't imagine you'd be able to grasp faggot, just keep being disingenuous more. Retarded faggots such as yourself play the role of it so well
>>223183006"Sweetie" monologue was the worst part, overall entertaining.
>>223185947Addicts will always find a way. Talk to your cats about drugs.
Mediocre, still don’t really understand why it blew up so much. Maybe just lucked out and hit the zeitgeist at the exact right moment.
>>223185149I wouldn't even say Bear is a villain until the last quarter, more like a common shitstain. He fucks up first when Ian is giving him genuinely good advice, but I can give him reasonable doubt at this point. I'd argue the moment he really becomes awful is when he asks why it's bad to be with him when Nikki's suffering to the point of wanting to die, rather than saying he can't do that or something else sane. But at most, he's an accomplice. To call him THE main villain gives him too much credit. A coward and a retard, sure, but he never quite reaches villain levels.
>>223183006Didn’t see it, don’t care to see it, but watching the black pill descend on people that watched it was funnyIt’s hilarious that women think theyre the only ones who can end up in relationships they aren’t happy with
>>223188639played into gender-war nonsense. Women saw it horrifying that she was forced to like him and men didn't see anything wrong with it.
