The 2010 edgy lolrandumb humor started on SomethingAwful. Then the SA mods got uppity and banhammer happy, so people moved to 4chan. The wider internet then copied 4chan memes and culture, particularly early Reddit, which was dudebro-4chan. Early reddit was full of porn and gore, basically a clone of /b/ and later, /tv/. It peaked with rickrolling, baneposting and prequelmemes. 4chan being the eternal contrarian, then declared a fatwa that such lolrandumb "reddit" humor is now haram.
