It was my all time favorite show as a kid and was one of the most popular and successful action shows for kids, but now it's completely dead. What the hell happened?

Ryuki has great suits.
>>
>>223184305
Never seen it but that Kamen Rider Dragon Knight show is a complete oddity, came right out of no where, and to air alongside Power Rangers RPM is some ridiculously good timing.
>>
>>223184200
They ran out of japanese footage and it's a 30 year old show.
>>
>>223184348
They've tried and fail twice to get a new reboot off the ground, first at Netflix and then at Disney. Even when trying original footage it just fails, kinda sad honestly, especially when it got 'cancelled' like three separate times only to immediately return.
>>
>>223184200
>What the hell happened?
Saban sold it to Hasbro like 6 years ago and since then Hasbro has repeatedly fumbled getting another series off the ground. They got like one season on Netflix of a show. Then they tried to get Disney to fund another show. Disney told them to fuck off. Basically they want someone else to pay for it, absorb all the costs of hosting the content and streaming it on their platform and for Hasbro to profit just because they hold the IP. Also to make things worse it seems the japanese are hip to their bullshit and wont sell them footage from any of their newer super sentai series. So if you want more Rangers you better go watch the original japanese series that are still being pumped out
>>
>>223184603
Yeah, people absolutely loathed Saban and Bandai back in 2018, but selling PR to Hasbro was a mistake in the end. The guy in Hasbro who wanted it had big plans but literally died only a few years after it was sold, and now nobody in the higher-ups at Hasbro knows what the fuck to do with it nor do they really want it, but at the same time they can't sell it because nobody wants it. I think the 2017 movie bombing marked the end of the franchise, Saban put all it's cards into the movie's success because they probably wanted to slowly step away from the show and focus on big budget movies for PR, but that didn't work out so selling to Hasbro was the back-up plan.
>>
>>223184200
>What the hell happened
more than 30 years

> So if you want more Rangers you better go watch the original japanese series that are still being pumped out
Kinda
Without the American licensing money they decided to roll back their Sentai series for a more reserved Gavan reboot with less characters in the cast and less mecha. US money was helping Sentai in weak years for a while.
>>
>>223184603
>the japanese are hip to their bullshit
Well fuck it took those morons decades to get it lmao
>>
dunno man it's crazy how this show dropped off, what the fuck happened??
>>
>>223186379
Stop samefagging you brown faggot
>>
It's dead in Japan too. They tried to have like 3 anniversary versions in a row and killed interest
>>
>>223186379
It's been a slow death by a thousand cuts for decades.
Haim Saban partnered with Fox to own the Family Channel. They got an offer from Disney to buy out the channel and Saban took it. This included all of Saban's TV production assets. Disney didn't really want them but were convinced to keep Power Rangers running.
Disney in the 2000's started focusing way more on girl's properties so PR was an afterthought. They did some good series but the ratings stagnated due to poor marketing and bad timeslots(last show on Saturday mornings, the prempted for sports slot) until they got cancelled.
Saban comes back out of nowhere and buys the property back. He even manages to sell the show to Nick, and for a couple years the show did well even though the shows were increasingly worse even for PR standards. Most people under 30 would probably be oblivious to this unless you had a younger sibling or a kid, but Power Rangers Samurai around 2013 was probably the most successful the show had been since the 90's ended, or about the early 2000s(Time Force allegedly did very well too)
But Nick had this bizarre demand that each series have less episodes per year and two seasons. This threw off the whole pattern of adaptations they had since they were basically using all of the prior year's JP footage since 1996. It meant they'd skip every other year of Japanese series which strained the relationship with Toei. Scheduling bullshit also became an issue since Nick, like Disney, wanted to sell their live action stuff more to girls than boys.

Then Hasbro bought it and like
>>223184687
summed it up, it basically became a hot potato no one wants to deal with. It's basically an IP carried by having a few successful years scattered. Not enough of a bomb to completely drop, but not successful to be evergreen like Transformers.
In all fairness it probably is more a viable franchise than GI Joe or He-man, but 80's kids have more money than 90's or 2000's kids have, or ever will have.
>>
>>223184200
Have you tried watching it recently? If you have fond childhood memories I wouldn't recommend it. Better to remember it fondly.

rewatching I realized that Lord Zed is completey innocent and a rape victim. Rita gave him a love potion that made him marry her. She's a rapist

Also Tanya is a kid. She's a kid put in a grown up body. Anyone attracted to her is a pedo.

My 5 year old son got into it with me. I just put it on for shit and giggles and he was hooked. My 3 year old daughter also gets into but I think she just does it to play with us. He calls himself the red ranger, just like I did, red > green. He says I'm the green ranger and we "fight". When I get the upper hand he morphs and I let him over power me. He started kinder this year and I got him a MMPR backpack that target carried, it's pretty cool. He loved it when he got it and emphasizes the "MY" backpack when talking about it. I bought him the toy line of the dinozords that combine into the megazord if you have all 5. We have little plastic mask of the red and green that we wear and beat Rita (my wife) while she's cooking or cleaning. Shit is cash, bros.
Thanks for reading my blog.

modern kids show are geared towards millennial trannies, not kids. It's no wonder kids like older kids shows.
>>
I don't think you can make kids give a fuck about PR these days and if they want to appeal to adults they have to make it edgy and that would be retarded. They should have tried a Lord Drakkon show when Tommy was alive that might have worked because I do think there was a successful show in there somewhere with the old cast but it's too late
>>
>>223184687
>I think the 2017 movie bombing
I still hate this cinematic travesty so much. Literally in the middle of the MCU being bright and colorful and silly and comic book-y as possible and making trillions of dollars, and these dipshits make an "early 2000s, embarrassed of the source material" piece of shit. They actually looked at the grimdark James Van Der Beek PR short film as inspiration instead of the spoof that it was where the whole joke was "grimdark PR is a dumb idea."
>>
>>223188517
The movie wasn't grimdark but all your issues was because Saban cheapened the shit out of that movie.
>>
>>223184319

I fucking hate you faggots.
>>
>>223186322
That Gavan show ended months ago.
>>
>>223188554
>The movie wasn't grimdark
Dude. Rita kills a hobo, Trini's parents hate her because she's gay, and Kimberly revenge-porns a classmate. None of those have anything to do with the budget.
>>
>>223188614
>Rita kills a hobo, Trini's parents hate her because she's gay
I hate Power Rangers but both of those things are based.
>>
>>223188614
None of that is grimdark. Rita also dances in a krispy kreme donuts shop. There are tons of campy scenes in the movie. It's nothing like that edgy short. A bad guy killing someone doesn't make it edgy it establishes them as being bad
>>
So yeah it's been a while since the last History of Power Rangers, as such I need to address a couple of things that have cropped up. Yes, I'm aware of the David Yost interview. Yes, I'm aware Power Rangers Samurai is coming to Nickelodeon in 2011. Yes, I will continue to do History of Power Rangers through that series once it concludes. Now many of you have been very patient in waiting for these videos, and for that I’m very grateful. Others of you have not been so patient to the point where I’m actually taking time out of this review to talk about it. Let me say this once again, since apparently it was not made clear when this video series began. History of Power Rangers has no set schedule. Videos are done when they’re done and will be released when they’re done. In case you haven’t noticed I’ve been more than a little busy the last few months. If you haven’t noticed, wake up already! I attended Power MorphiCon, FallCon, did a very complicated ending to an episode of Atop the Fourth Wall, released additional videos in October beyond my regular workload, did my regular workload, which consists of an episode of Atop the Fourth Wall every week despite conventions and other difficulties, one of those difficulties being moving into an apartment. In addition to that people don’t seem to realize how much work actually goes into these videos. Here’s the process, I watch the entire series which, for those of you at home, is around 40 episodes at 20 minutes each. That’s roughly 13 hours straight, if I was watching them all in one day. Which I’m not. Oh, but it gets better. Because I also am writing up a synopsis of the important plot points of the season, as well as writing down character notes, themes, et cetera, et cetera. Which means I’m pausing the episodes so I can write.
>>
Once the season is completed, I have to finish my notes and analysis. And then, I watch the next season and repeat the process. Yes, I had to finish watching Ninja Storm before I recorded the Wild Force review. Why? So I don’t let my immediate feelings about it be the ones that I write. I give it time to settle and see how much of it is memorable. It helps the analysis and judgement of the series. And on top of all of that, I then have to record it and edit it all down to a few videos for your consumption. And oh yes, I need to also have my own life outside of it. So when will the next History of Power Rangers be out? When it’s done. I’m sorry if I’m coming across as ungrateful or needlessly angry, since I’m not. I love that you all care about this series, and I’m doing everything in my power to get it done. But it’s not easy and it doesn’t happen overnight. Asking me when the next one is going to come is not making it get done any faster. I have warned you all before that I’m in unfamiliar territory now, and it’s harder for me to skip through stuff that I’ve never seen before. And I appreciate offers of people to point out what’s filler and what isn’t, but I have to make that evaluation for myself. And please, please, please avoid spoilers or telling me, “avoid this season, it sucks.” It’s History of Power Rangers, not History of Power Rangers, Except for this Season or this Season. Every season will be watched, everything evaluated, everything will be given a fair chance to impress or disappoint. Like I said, I haven’t watched these seasons before and I want the chance to be surprised by things that happen. Stop telling me what’s going to happen, you’re only going to piss me off. The thing is, I want to have fun while I’m doing this. Constantly badgering me for the next videos does not equal fun, it makes it a chore for me and if it becomes a chore for me I will be disinclined to work on it.
>>
And with all of that said, let’s get to Wild Force already.
>>
Let it rest for a bit. Three decades is a good run it must have like 1000 episodes. Somebody will bring it back either in the east or west give it a few years.
>>
>>223188781
Some old IPs should just show up randomly in other IPs like in fortnite and a special guest in a fighting game or a skin in another game. That's what PR should be now.
>>
>>223188675
It's all about intent and context, anon. I'm not saying people can't die in a proper PR movie (notice I didn't mention Rita killing Billy). But there's a difference between people dying as Rita or Zedd send giant monsters to attack the planet, or Zordon doing a heroic sacrifice, and Rita (who at this point in the movie is coming off more "meth addict" than "empress of evil") murdering a lone hobo in a dark alley because... he just happened to be there, I guess. In the context of what should be a proper Power Rangers movie? Yes, that is very much tryhard edgelord grimdark.
>>
>>223188831
If you want to make the argument that there are some darker elements compared to an episode of the OG power rangers then yes there are some. The movie is not edgy and grim dark as a whole though that's just absurd. Power Rangers RPM wasn't edgy and grim dark because it took place in a post apocalyptic world where most of the planet died. Murder or strict traditional parents does not make something edgy how fucking stupid are you?
>>
>>223188831
>Rita (who at this point in the movie is coming off more "meth addict" than "empress of evil") murdering a lone hobo in a dark alley because... he just happened to be there, I guess.
Another thought... What is this establishing, exactly? That Rita is capable of killing a single, defenseless person? Oooh, how dangerous. Clearly, we need a team of superheroes and a fleet of giant mechs to overcome this cosmic-level threat.
>>
>>223188931
Before the movie came out around the apex of woke the cast talked about the sequel (lol) and how Tommy didn't have to be a man and could be a woman and that's the moment where I knew I would never pay to watch it.
>>
>>223184200
Tomy died and the dream ended anon. Besides the show was over when the Zordon era came to an end. Anything after that are just bad cashgrabs.
>>
>>223189238

Like, 30 years ago movie?
>>223188675

Did I miss something?
Trini was never in a Power Rangers movie.
Neither was Thuy Trang.

>>
>>223188614
Is the MCU that kiddified that you find those things grimdark? Damn. Glad I never watched that shit.
>>
>>223187169
Am I wrong for thinking the White Ranger and Black Ranger have the best looking outfits in this pic?
I'd include Green Ranger, but we never got a stylized, armored Green Ranger suit like this.
The Sentai Green Ranger Suit with the hard gold chestpiece, not the flappy fabric one beats the brakes off of 90% of Ranger suits.
>>
I'm the one who was confused about Trini being a lesbian and Rita murdering a hobo.
I just now rediscovered that there was a 2017 Power Rangers movie.
With Billy from Stranger Things?
I have a vague memory from 2017 hearing about a new Power Rangers movie, but I thought it was "Whatever Curent Version of Power Rangers" made for tv.
I saw that Power/Rangers video put out by Adi Shankar a few years before that, and, hate me if you want, I liked it. I mean, fantastic premise, with a nasty twist at the end. And, grimdark as fuck.
Welp. Looks like I am going to watch 2017 Power Rangers.
I have a six pack and some weed.
Beer will last me the movie, pretty sure. Weed much longer.
I'll be back to give a review later.
I don't like Bill Hader and I don't like Elizabeth Banks. Dacre better fucking carry this movie.
It does have Bryan Cranston as Zordon, and that is fantastic.
All those other shits I don't know who they are.

Hasbro has little interest outside of making nostalgia shit for adults these days. It's also why they only really churned out more 1993 MMPR season 1 merch. Their business model is Transformers, GI:Joe, and Magic cards for collectors.

Hell, the only way you can spell any of those words is with google AI verbally telling you each letter to say.

Saban refused to pay his actors despite him making multimillions. Jason, Zack, and Trini left. They replaced them and expected us to be okay with it and we were like fuck this. Tommy ended up carrying the show afterward and it basically became the Tommy show.
They eventually brought Jason back and it helped.
Finally they started making new series and it worked for a while, but that eventually fell off.

First of all Sentai is on hiatus like Rider in the 90s. Its not canceled.

All these different rangers, the OG ones, in space, time force, SPD, etc should have all taken place at the same time and be treated like different military arms. You could have matured power rangers into more like low budget sci fi like old school star gate

I didn't care that Billy was a fag, it just took another decade before I randomly caught a Power Rangers clip on youtube or something when I realized that the actor and Billy were basically the same person.

This is bizarrely an issue with all three PR movies. If they made a Batman or Spider-Man movie where Bruce or Peter wore their suit that little, people would throw a fit. And those are heroes that get movies all the time. I don't know why PR movies keep treating the suits and Zords and powers as something to eventually build up to instead of something to spend the entire film enjoying.

However, they realized that this was a mistake and realized that the Power Rangers in Morphed Mode are not supposed to show emotion, but rather were supposed to be a powerful fighting force and that their identities had to be concealed. I've always been fascinated by this obscure charmingly chintzy Rangers rip-off, produced by a couple of Second City veterans. They have no Japanese footage to use and no budget. No location shooting. All of Beverly Hills is represented by exactly three sets. All the repetitious monster fight scenes are on one big set constantly re-dressed but always recognizable as the same locale. They had rehearsals on Monday, then shot one and a quarter episodes per day for the rest of the week. For me, the superheroics are unwatchable, but the scenes with the high school kids -- all played by unconvincing twentysomethings -- held my interest partly because the cast and crew (and the slumming comedy writers) are struggling to do the best they can, on a shoestring, with such a contrived formulaic premise.

Lmao. They absolutely did during the 1990s after Kamen Rider Black RX finished. The Japanese media regularly said the show was terminated or ended.

Toei producer Shinichiro Shirakura said they had to pull Kamen Rider out of the grave when m making Kuuga. They called it a franchise revival from death.
>>
>>223194869
>And they look like shit because America can't design good original costumes.
Not true. The Japanese were just being greedy gatekeepers and knowledge hoarding. There are several interviews from Power Ranger costume designers. They talk about how they wanted to be authentic to the Japanese Sentai footage. So the American costume designers repeatedly requested that Toei and Japan please share the blueprints on the Super Sentai Costumes and the material they used to make the fabric. Japan and Toei actually refused.
>>

>>
>>223195168
Whatever story you've been told is wrong.

American Power Rangers Video Editors have said they were often sent pretty low quality sentai footage on old video tapes despite requesting higher quality footage.

American Power Ranger costume designers were regularly denied access to blueprints and material.

American Stunt teams have said many costumes and props arrived from Japan in very rough and poor condition. Some were falling apart and nearly unusable. They had to coordinate with the costume department to do emergency repairs right before filming episodes. The Japanese did NOT take care of their costumes and props.

>You know why? Cause when Saban asked for that stuff and they obliged, it either got sold to random people or they destroyed it. I'm looking at you, American Dragon Shield

This is not petty high school drama. American Power Rangers was paying Toei hundreds of millions of dollars each year in fees. When you have a business partner that gives you that much money, then you fucking help them when they ask for help. Especially if their requests are reasonable.
>>
>>223195292
Why do you keep saying "American Power Rangers"?
>>
>>223195345
Because the Japanese actually reverse imported Power Rangers back into Japan and aired it on TV with a Japanese dub. It gained a following and Japanese fans actually enjoyed it. Then Toei quickly didn't want Power Rangers to compete with Super Sentai and stopped showing Power Rangers in Japan.

I am referring to the version that aired in America. Not Japan.

>>
>>223195168
The dragon shield broke during shipping. Toei was weird about giving them things. Before the 2000s anniversaries it would be rare they use Robo suits after 5 years and monster suits were trashed usually so the monster suits were commonly shipped over. More delicate props often broke like the dragon shield.
Even in the last few seasons Toei let them have a bunch of monster suits from unused Sentai series because they were getting rid of them.

Original anon here.

There were several interviews with Toei staff and fans during that time discussing this. I read many of them. Basically the Japanese were fascinated at how the Americans combined high school drama TV shows with Super Sentai elements to create an ongoing story. The Japanese specifically said it's like the Americans combined "Beverely Hills 90210" with Super Sentai and somehow made it work very well. And also that the Americans stretched these drama stories across multiple Power Rangers seasons using Sentai footage from multiple Sentai seasons. No one had thought to do this before. The Japanese called it "fascinating to watch" .

Toei Producers said they watched Power Rangers closely, and took notes on what the Americans did better than them. Especially when it came to drama and writing.

Because the battleizers are all made after the JP series finishes it's run. The US side paid PLEX to design them for US footage. It's an extra expense that the JP side is unlikely to bother with since budgets are already tight for Sentai. JP fans are unlikely to demand them because they're unlikely to see the US side much...the target audience being kids and all.
>Why didn't they bring it back for the Dekaranger movie they did?
You mean the ones 10/20 years later? The first one didn't even have the mecha, does that mean the mecha were unpopular? Most of the anniversary movies, especially the early ones, are more about the cast reunion and are lower budget. The priority is more about showing the characters that the arsenal.

>You realize they make post-series stuff right? Just recently they had a Dekaranger 10 years after.
...anon did you actually read my post?
Also Dekaranger 10 years after was over 10 years ago. They just had the 20 year one. Tose were the first Dekaranger movies after the crossover that used the battleizer, and being 10, 20 years later, it's unknown just what condition that thing is even in, on top of being more budget to actually film with it. Battleizers were cumbersome to film with which is why they rarely used them in the US footage
>>
>>223197461
No I didn't read your entire post. Its a filthy habit but I can't change. I'm old.
Anyway why didn't any of the other series ever use American battlizers again? Practically every PR season had em, but that SPD one was the only one that ever got used in Japan.
>>
>>223184603
>Also to make things worse it seems the japanese are hip to their bullshit and wont sell them footage from any of their newer super sentai series.
I don't know why weebs think Saban used arcane Jewish magic to steal sentai from Japan. It was a business agreement and one they took part in, sending their own directors and stunt actors over to work on episodes, and having their design house PLEX work on the US original designs. In turn Koichi Sakamoto(who started his career in the US, not Japan) would go on to be a big part of Toei tokusatsu since the 2000s, and money made in the US would cycle back to the JP side.
There's a French documentary about Saban that briefly shows him discussing Lightspeed Rescue with a Toei representative and they're on very friendly terms
https://youtu.be/ILQT1B9RoCU?si=JBq0TuxtR6mNDgQn&t=132
What spoiled the whole thing was partly Nick forcing the seasons to be staggered, which left a bunch of seasons unadapted, and ESPECIALLY Hasbro buying the license because Bandai used the toy sales to funnel back into Japan.
But unless Toei/Bandai finds another licensor to localize Project RED/Gavan Infinity, that's unlikely to leave Japan since Toei never works on dubs or localizations themselves. At best it'll get a sub like the latest Kamen rider.
>>
>>223197632

At best they can be used for the crossover movies if it's finished in time AND can be shipped back from either LA or NZ depending on the era.. Shipping big, bulky suits like that is risky, and setting up stunts for them tends to be pricey, which is why they were barely used in Power Rangers. Later JP series would use similar power up for reds.
Remember it's still PLEX designers like Tsuyoshi Nonaka who designed the battleizers for PR, so they'd incorporate some elements into the JP series too.

That's a fine opinion to have, but Toei and Bandai are in the business of selling a kids toyline to kids. A studio basically paying them money to use footage from a kid's show they never planned to do anything with after a year was a nice windfall. Like if a Japanese company wanted to pay money to license out a US public access show for whatever reason, do you think most TV execs would care about the integrity of that public access show in the dub? I also wouldn’t say way better. It’s pretty cool though, Dekaranger also had great mecha. Not a fan of the heavily asymmetrical Abaranger or Hurricanger ones though

Because I don't watch Power Rangers and I don't remember what mech that is.

I’ve been using the Japanese Sentai names since I figure there’s a lot of weebs here who would ackshually me otherwise.
GalaxyMega is from Megaranger, which got adapted as Power Rangers in Space. There it’s called the Astro Megazord.

She was caught working a part time job at a night club being a waitress and serving drinks to customers. She never really drank herself. She claims she needed the money which draws attention to Super Sentai actors getting paid peanuts. Toei found this whole situation embarrassing because they do pay peanuts, fired her for "drinking", and tried to sweep it under the rug.

It’s never stated but the usual theory is that Zordon somehow had NASADA have the shuttle ready in case of of emergency since the director recognized Zordon’s name. Andros also knew Zordon somehow.

The Odagiri Effect (オダギリ効果) is real. I don't know if Disney ever capitalized on it properly or if they just casted whatever New Zealander they could find, but the early 00s were a boom in Japanese media to just cast the most handsome men in important roles.

That's another thing I really love about Sentai and all these tokusatsu shows is that they could be an amazing launching point for young actors. Power Rangers almost never bolstered anyone's career.
>Amy Jo Johnson got some cop drama
>Brandon Jay McLaren did decently
>Johnny Young Bosch got luck with voice acting
>Daniel Southworth honorable mention for being the Blue Devil May Cry guy
and that's really all I can think of. It sucks. I imagine this is also just how shit it is to not be part of a union, which Saban Power Rangers is infamous for

>but the early 00s were a boom in Japanese media to just cast the most handsome men in important roles.
This wasn't universal. Many producers disliked this practice in Sentai because the focus was too much on star power. It gave too much power to casting and modeling agencies. There are several interviews where Toei Producers said they respect Power Rangers more for taking normal 'up and coming' actors and making it an ensemble show where they all work together. The focus is spread out fairly.

> I imagine this is also just how shit it is to not be part of a union, which Saban Power Rangers is infamous for
It became union halfway through In Space, so half the Saban shows before Disney ended up being union. The real reason is more typecasting and producers not taking kids tv roles seriously. Nick show actors before the 2000s also generally went nowhere except Michelle Trachtenberg, Amanda Bynes( briefly), and Kenan Thompson. Disney sort of changed that game since they had more power in Hollywood and started more of a pipeline from kids tv to Hollywood. Unfortunately Power Rangers was in New Zealand when they got it and Disney execs hated the show.
>>
>>223199646
also most of the actors they chose weren't actually good actors

Oh please. Most Super Sentai actors from older vintage shows never made it big after the show ended. Many went back to a normal life.

And modern Super Sentai is dominated by actors who are already semi-famous or have a modeling agency with connections to the studio push them onto the show. None of them are just normal random actors anymore.

That reminds me of one of the stories about why the Jetman season of Super Sentai was so popular. They explicitly casted male actors to appeal to horny housewives and played up the romantic drama and it worked so well that Jetman was being recapped by one of the top soap opera magazines, the only time that ever happened in Super Sentai history

What they meant is they realized the visorless helmets looked fucking stupid. It would be one thing if they had a full face opening, but those just look like if you popped the lenses out of a pair of sunglasses.
Also Hollywood still struggles with the idea that emotion can conveyed in any way other than shoving the actor's face in the camera so you can see them emote.

I rewatched some episodes of Lightspeed Rescue lately and it only made me appreciate it more. They were allowed to say kill, die, demon, etc. and didn't have any of that pansy ass abandoned buildings district cop out. There was an episode where a guy hijacks a bus with a regular gun he points at people. Both back then and today there are very few shows that didn't pull their punches like that.

>Someone kills a person with literally no use to the world
I mean, murder is generally bad, but we let action stars get away with shooting dozens of mooks who have actual jobs working as bodyguards for the big bad in every movie for the last 50 years, so...
>Someone hates a dyke on screen
That's called just being normal.
>Someone revenge porns a classmate
That's everyone who ever took part in social media for content generation.

This is just like, deadass normal people doing normal things on screen. What the hell is wrong with you that you think any of these things are grimdark? Do you even know what grimdark means?

Do you lack any sense of context or media literacy? It's all about the franchise we're talking about.
>we let action stars get away with shooting dozens of mooks
Because that's how action movies work. We're not supposed to care about the mooks. It's all about the hero kicking ass.
>That's everyone who ever took part in social media for content generation.
"Everyone who ever took part in social media" aren't the HEROES in what's supposed to be a FAMILY FRIENDLY SUPERHERO MOVIE.
>What the hell is wrong with you that you think any of these things are grimdark?
Again, I'm not talking about in general, I'm talking specifically within the context of Power Rangers.
>Do you even know what grimdark means?
You're just intentionally not getting my point at this point. Swearing, sex, drugs... That's all normal shit that's part of real life, as you would say. But if someone were to suddenly dump all those things into a fucking Muppet movie, they'd be massively grim and out of place, wouldn't you agree?
