You can put an Asian girl sometimes but then white women in real life will get mad. By the way, I work in marketing, and the main reason this push was dropped is because research showed that women don’t favor Black leads as romantic interests. Now the go-to strategy is to feature white male leads paired with Asian or Black female characters, since women of all backgrounds tend to self-insert into female leads regardless of race. It’s the male character’s race that seems to be the sticking point. The Asian female characters that seems to be the great equalizer.
