The first one had whispers of a plot. Galaxy was just full tiktok 10 second attention span adhd candy sugar crack cocaine. Plot was completely secondary to the spectacle... but the spectacle fell flat

I don't know, I never even finishes the first one it was so bad. I gave up after the Kong sequence, when they inexplicably hop in karts and drive on Rainbow Road. Fucking movie was like a fever dream. Thank Christ I woke up.

I'm not sure how to articulate it, but the whole thing felt like a fever dream, it didn't seem like any of the characters in any of the scenes were actually characters. or dumb shit like the rosaline fight, you know 100% that it's going to end by her not ACTUALLY losing but by letting herself be captured to protect someone else. you know that from the first second of the scene.honestly, the only character in the entire movie that felt vaguely like it was actually there was bowser. not that he was a good character or anything, but he at least reacted to what was happening around him in a way that didn't just seem like he had all the agency of a light switch being flickedreally felt like nothing happened in the entire movie. it was a very strange experience.
