I've noticed lately that a lot of people like to headcanon — especially Tom Holland's — peter parker as a trans man, but I just genuinely cannot see the allegories and connections behind such choice? Especially considering how much I've seen characters rendered transgender by the fans as a mere way to fetishize the genitalia of the person. (A thing I've also seen really present in the tom holland spiderman fandom especially on ao3).
I could guess the whole phase of Peter changing and transforming into the spider altered self he is, but other than that I can't see else that could somehow create a transgender allegory.
Does anyone else in the spiderman fandoms support this view and could tell me more about it?

This is not a trans hate post or meant to spark up debates on "trans people are mentally ill blah blah" I don't care for those goyed out comments, I want genuine answers and analyses on why a lot of people headcanon the peters as trans.
