Was this the biggest career killing movie of all time?
>>223193064Nothat would be Jade
>>223193064Fuck no. Audiences were dumb that time. Last Action Hero is hilarious and kino.
This movie is awesome.
>>223193553>>223193583It had a kino idea but it dragged on for too long. The kid was so fucking annoying and him pointing out ITS ALL JUST A MOVIE got really fucking old after an hour
>>223193603It’s fine. You’re gay
>>223193064watched it with my boyfriend and his husband last week, we watched most of it but didn't really understand the plot.

>>223193603Nah I love that it squoze out everything you could want out of the premise. One of the rare times a high concept blockbuster left me completely full. I don’t care that it’s unusually long.
>>223193603>The kid was so fucking annoyingIt's sad how many men just hate little boys
It’s a good action adventure movie. Might be a bit too kiddy for some Arnie fans but I thought it balanced that well. Its also stuffed a little full it’s like they did the sequel as part of the same movie.
>What if Neverending Story but you kick ass with ArnoldToo based for general audiences
>>223193064I just rewatched it and it was surprisingly good. At the time I think it was disappointing because I just wanted a straightforward serious action movie from Arnold and not some meta comedy. I think most people felt that way.
The disconnect was that it was an honest celebration of how a child would daydream about action movies, rather than a true recreation of how most classic action movies feel. It’s childhood wonder core.
>>223193989>I think most people felt that way. Most people didn't get that it was a parody. They thought it was trying to be a serious action film that ended up being silly, without realising that the joke was how silly big blockbusters had become. Maybe casting Arnold was a mistake because people couldn't see him as making a joke about himself and his defining genre. It'd be like if they actually cast Stallone in Hot Shots! Part Deux.
>>223193064>career killing movieWhose career was killed by it? True Lies came out the next year and was a massive hit.
