See I would have sex with a Seto Kaiba holoprogram, but then he would make a hologram of a Blue Eyes White Dragon to have sex with, and it would all just be a huge waste of my time.

every series feeling the need to reference other series makes the universe feel so small. id be much happier following a small ship that has no connection to picard, sisko, janeway or kirk. no cameos, no kids of geordie or brent spiner playing his ancestor for the 10000th time

Taking a break halfway through to make myself dinner (should've made it earlier), but it's some exciting stuff so far! I really enjoy that they added the threat of nightfall on the surface of Alfa-177 being 200 degrees under zero, putting Sulu and the away team at risk of death by hypothermia, on top of the whole DoppelKirk deal.
I was initially frustrated by how they added an extra scene of investigation between Scotty revealing the duplicate dogs and Spock having his "only logical conclusion", but then I realized there is an in-universe justification: not merely how unprecedented a transporter error of this nature is, but that the Good half of Kirk is lacking in his faculties, and thus may be slower on the uptake. The out of universe reasons are obviously that this is a brand new concept being introduced to the viewers at home in the 60s, but it felt like it was hammering them over the head a little too hard without the good writing I had overlooked.
I also liked the scene with Rand and Fisher after EvilKirk's attempted rape, how neither of them are hesitant to speak up about what "he" did. Spock makes a big deal to Kirk later about not revealing the evil doppelganger and giving away his imperfection because of how it would compromise his command position in the eyes of the crew, but that feels draconian when put against the open fallibility of future captains, and it makes him sound like he's more worried about a mutiny on a damn research vessel. The better way to put it here would be about Kirk's inner vices being put on display without his virtues to balance them out, similar to the other (much better) speech Spock gives as they're strapping Evil Kirk down in the medbay. Because their Captain harboring these wicked thoughts in the core of himself would ACTUALLY vilify the crew against him, just like Fisher and Rand were willing to fulfill their duty to the truth, even against his position of power.
Time for some mac & cheese, see you in 30 minutes.

I should've said "See you in an hour" since it takes me 30 minutes to cook, and 30 minutes left in the episode, because I don't have anything else to say other than I'm done cooking and unpausing the video. This isn't my blog, this isn't HSG.

The all red uniforms are LAME, worst part of the movies. The color coded uniforms are cool. Odd Squad copied the color coded uniforms and its one of the coolest parts of Odd Squad too
And on that note why did they change Command to red? Red was Engineering and Security, Command and Navigation are Yellow.

I think the worst episodes of the non-TNG shows are the ones where they just retread TNG shit.

The second half of the episode continued its examination of the components of the human psyche, and how the integration thereof is what makes the man himself. Good Kirk casually referring to his other half as an unthinking animal only to get outsmarted by himself later was too good. I'm glad the way they handled this whole thing coming hot off the heels of Amok Time didn't retread too much of the same ground. The "who's the REAL Kirk" finale on the bridge was also fantastic because it's immediately obvious to everyone (even without knowing the whole truth) just by watching the demeanor of them both. Sure Good Kirk is a lot more passive, but he's not the one angrily ordering they abandon Sulu and the away team on the surface. The Evil half having all the self-preservation ends up being his undoing when it becomes crippling to him, in congress with his fear (because they both motivate the other, in a way). Kirk's attention immediately going back to the men stuck on the planet once he's reintegrated is why he's the best at what he does.
Bones getting a speech too was fun, I haven't seen him wax philosophical too much yet so I can't tell if this is a rarity from him or just the first of many places that the realm of the metaphysical crosses over into the physical and he's the guy the writers choose to have chime in. It definitely fits him in this case, so I hope future instances also avoid stretching him too far.
I don't really have much else to say about Rand because she's a character that continues to have things happen to her rather than have much proactive involvement. It's still such a shame what happened to her actress, and I'll avoid bringing it up again.

I don't agree. There are rehash episodes that are genuinely great. "Author, Author" being the first that comes to mind.

Honestly the Naked Now is so much better than Naked Time and that's because Brent Spiner is a better actor than Takei.
>>
>>223196883
Hard disagree. The Maquis were great and under used. The first Q VOY episode is good, but each one gets weaker and weaker. The lost ferengi in the delta quadrant is great. None of the TNG cameos in VOY felt like an issue.

>None of the TNG cameos in VOY felt like an issue.
Those were handled with surprising tact. Especially when you compare it to how DS9 brutalized and usually killed off nearly every TOS/TNG character that showed up.
>>
>>223198071
the target audience for this show is so atrociously low-IQ, anon, its not actually for anyone and you can just save your own time by not bothering with it. AI generated slop is more worthy writing than anything nutrek.

Section 31 did nothing wrong and Odo should've been stopped from curing the Changelings.
