ITT we post a film and a piece of trivia about it. You can post the same film as another anon, but try not to post the same trivia (hivemind accidents are acceptable). To start us off I'll do a two-fer.Aliens filmed at the decommissioned Acton Lane Power Station in England for all the scenes set in the atmosphere processor and Xenomorph hive. Before filming they needed to clean out all of the asbestos in the plant to ensure safe breathable air. After filming was completed the Alien hive set was not dismantled.Batman (1989) used the same power station for the Axis Chemicals scenes, when the crew arrived they discovered much of the hive including the Queens nest and several facehugger eggs still intact.

Peter Weller worked with a movement coach, Moni Yakim, for 6 months during pre-production for RoboCop before the suit was ready. Their intention was to give the character fast, fluid movements like a snake. After Weller tried the full costume on the first time, which took between 10 to 12 hours (depending on who you ask) to put on, Weller realised he couldn't do any of the movements he'd trained. After Weller, Verhoeven and several others got into an argument production was shut down to resolve the situation. Yakim was flown in to work with Weller in the suit and they revised the movements to be slower and more broad. They also came up with the idea that during RoboCop's creation that Murphy's brain had been transplanted into a housing in the chest, which is why when RoboCop turns he often moves the chest first and the head then follows opposed to the typical human movement of head then torso.
>>223199106Princess Leia's ship in A New Hope was originally going to be the Millennium Falcon. While he was making the movie, George Lucas saw the tv show Space 1999 and thought the main spaceship in the show, the Eagle, looked too much like the Falcon, so Lucas told ILM to design a new Falcon.
