shows like this are a bit like a hot dog weiner. you can't just have 100% beef, it's too expensive. you gotta fill it out with some pork and poultry.

It didn't seem to affect viewership. It didn't actually matter how slow paced, meandering and boring it could get as long there was the occasional scene where Andrew Lincoln would act his ass off and pump the audience back up for another round.
