What's /tv/ consensus on this?
It's woke and has TDS standard leftshit demoncrap
>>223204700I tried to like it. I like how it portrays all lawyers as scumbags. But it's trash.
How many episodes have you actually seen? How many were reruns?
I just don't understand why they released it. Are Will Forte and Luiz Guzman bankable stars now? Did "Written and Produced by James Gunn" sound like a good idea in late 2026?
>>223204700>should we cast a hot actress in this, maybe as his wife?>na just throw in a random filler submid asian and laurie from euphoria, it'll be finewhose decision was this, tv?and i'm supposed to feel bad they got buried?
I liked it. It was funny and it was a nice night out at the movies. It wasn’t the best movie I’ve ever seen or anything, but it was definitely enjoyable.
>>223204762John Cena is the biggest star in the world.
>>223204700I liked it but I 100% see why WB thought it would flopdidn't like how they handled the ending. it did that sort of "well we lost against the big guys but that's actually how we win!" type of pathetic ending and they later "win" in a montage that felt thrown in right at the endI get they were probably going for a commentary on how conglomerates are above the law at every turn but it still wasn't satisfying.
>>223204700meh.the human actors were fucking awful. especially will forte. holy shit. roger rabbit had good live action acting. there's no excuse. but manchildren on reddit will tell you it's okay because it's "supposed to be cartoony" or whatever. but then why do live action at all? also, as much as i like john cena, he's not the greatest actor out there. and yet he gives the best live action performance in the movie by far lmao. unreal.and the 3d animation was a baffling decision. why is every character 3d except for buggs and daffy?!?! why isn't the MAIN CHARACTER treated with the same level of craft? weird.there were like two funny jokes and that was it. concept was good tho.i do like that it didn't really do much meta humor. they could've easily went the shitpool route and redditors would've still eaten that shit up. but the filmmakers seemed to actually care about telling a good story so thankfully they refrained. the only pop culture references that i can remember were limited to loony tunes which was refreshing. no daffy duck twerking here.it's a solid 5/10.>>223204762because zazlov is trying to scrape together whatever good will he can from the public. he got to reap the financial benefits of writing it off for taxes and now he's trying to reap the benefits of appearing to be magnanimous after all this time. as if audiences are gonna go "awwwww see he's not so bad". i don't think it's working but still i'd bet my life that was the thinking.he's an anti-art ghoul and needs to be fired.
>>223204700very decent and very obvious most of the scum in this thread never watched it. that said, a big missed opportunity in that the court case scenes are a tiny part of the movie and they should've been the majority of it since they're the actual funniest aspect.
>>223204716Here's your (You)
I liked it. Probably would have worked better in 2020 as some streaming show with 10 episodes.
>>223204700I don't see the point of even watching these movies when they don't even bother to attempt 10% of the creativity that Roger Rabbit did. I can just rewatch Roger Rabbit instead.WB made the correct decision to shelve then sell it. It was their only chance of making any money from it.
>>223204716It has tranny derangement syndrome?
>>223204828That explains all those direct to streaming movies he's doing.
The waste of Looney Tunes characters was just fucking weird. Why was Elmer Fudd chairing a Congress hearing? Why was Daffy a test subject? Give humans the boring roles and let the toons be wacky and funny.
>>223204700reddit
>>223205116>Roku OriginalGrim.
>>223204700i haven't watched it, but it is garbage
>>223205023ppersonally i dont see why anyone would ever consume any kind of media when the greatest story ever told already exists. I just dont see the point.
>>223205185Your mom's the best pussy I ever had, but your sister has a different grip strength. Variety is the spice of life.
>>223205023it's already making more than they sold it for. WB and you LOST
>>223204700It made me laugh over and over, so it was a solid 10/10 and the best movie I've seen all year. We need more FUN movies.
>>223204823>laurie from euphoriaLiterally who?
>>223204700Solid B+. Great moments. Meh ending. Cant complain when you compare it to 99%+ of other media released in the past decade.
>>223205672>laurie from euphoria
>>223204700It was shelved for a reason.
>>223206626Kind of a stupid thing to say since it's making tons of money.
>>223206360I thought she was pretty funny. Never seen Euphoria, though.
>>223204823Why are you such a faggot?
>>223204700>>223204762>>223204909>>223205023This movie has been out for like 3 weeks now and yet not a single webm or movie clip has been postedhmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm
>>223206727no one makes webms of cams unless they're ragebaiting or mad about something, usually something political
>>223206724>she looked almost decent before, so she doesn't look like someone's mom right nownta btw
>>223204700certified meh movie, back in action is still the better looney tunes movie
>>223204700It wasn't a great movie, but I liked it. If I had to give it a letter grade it'd be a B-. Plot was extremely rushed and the cel-shaded polygonal cartoon characters were off-putting, but it was funny when it wasn't corny and is a decent family movie.
>>223206626Yeah and the reason it got shelved was WB was losing so much money that it needed tax write-offs.
>>223204700It was okay, but an extremely odd premise for a movie.Did it really need to be a legal drama? Is that that best idea they could come up with?
>>223206360This is martha from baskets. Fuck your tranny show
>>223204700I left extremely disappointed. Vert forgetable
>>223207305this isnt even how tax write-offs work. that's just a weird cope^cope. hard reality is WB has been deliberately sabotaging itself for 15+ years now so it could be bought out.
>>223204700>What's /tv/ consensus on this?"Tell me what to think"Why are you faggots like that? Board is full with shit like that.
>>223204700They were right to not release it. I love the Looney Tunes, but this movie just wasn't funny, the jokes didn't land. I only laughed once and that was at Bugs stamping out a half-eaten carrot like a cigarette. Also, horrible misuse of Foghorn Leghorn. He should've been the lawyer so he could say "Now I may, I say, I may be just a small town country lawyer..."
>>223207633>this isnt even how tax write-offs work. that's just a weird cope^cope.Movies that flop or movies that get shelved can absolutely be written off as losses to reduce overall revenue since businesses pay taxes on profit, not on their overall earnings.
>it made its budget back!>it'll hit 100m!!!It's been how many weeks since release and we're not even considering money spent on top of the official budget? That's a success?No-one even cares to update its wikipedia to show off how it's apparently paid for its budget finally.>>223206727I've seen a coupleOne being the scene with the hotel bell>>223204877>above the law at every turn but it still wasn't satisfying. For some reason this line made me think of Evan Almighty.>>223204909>it's okay because it's "supposed to be cartoony" or whatever."It's supposed to be shit because it's for children">>223208442How do you file quarterly, or annual losses, in a different quarter or year, to cover up profits? Is their tax a flat tax or a progressive tax?How does a failed product they or investors spent millions on save them money?
>>223205240But what would be the point of that? I just dont aee the point?
>>223206839>doesn't look like someone's mom right nowThats hot althobiet
>>223208733>How do you file quarterly, or annual losses, in a different quarter or year, to cover up profits? There's no coverup. Financials are well documented in annual reports. It's too complicated for me to explain via phoneposting but look up impairment charges and how production companies use them to reduce tax liability.
>>223204700Really not worth the rallying cry.
>>223204700It was fun
>>223204909>Head of a company isn't focus on the art of things, especially when now when arts is on the backfoot of said art's stupid choices and the economy.Ya don't say.
>>223208442you did not understand the point, nor do you understand this concept as a whole. they would have ALWAYS made more money as a whole releasing it even if it made like $100 total. you write off the difference between what you earned and the costs, and only the effective tax rate is 'saved' on what's written off. Again, WB has been deliberately sabotaging itself for 15+ years now to force being bought out
>>223209464>well you see it's good if business man do greedy business thing bc it's BUSINESS, silly. business is about being greedy so it's OK. it's actually good because business and everything is permissible when doing businessey business stuff. it's just good business LOLZ!he's the head of an ART company. there needs to be at least some baseline of respect for making art no? any respect for the craft? any respect for the time and effort put in by the actual filmmakers themselves? no?also movies are doing fine lol. "muh economy" isn't stopping anyone from consooming. wtf are you talking about?go ahead, copy-paste some graph you got from your favorite woke-obsessed xitter retard about how it's totally over for movies for real this time.
>>223210236Ok
>>223210236The difference is movies and tv have special irs rules. So what happened is if they get rid of in completely, they can write the whole amount off in one year. And WB has a cash flow problem. If they release it they have to expense over several years. By the rules
>>223204700its not terrible but not really memorable either
>>223204700It's mid
>>223204828He failed the "Never be caught with a dead girl or live boy" rule and is paying the price
It was good. Should have swapped Cena and Foghorn's roles.
>>223204716TDS?
>>223204716Woke and TDS?I thought TDS was Trump supporters?
>>223204909>the human actors were fucking awful. especially will forte.i thought forte was all right. he played a demoralized wuss lawyer pretty accurately
>>223211741>>223211771>Trump Derangement Syndrome>people obsessed with trump to the point of derangement; everything is about trump, every day is a new day to find out about trump, anything that's gone wrong is trump's faultNo idea what anon's talking about but I haven't watched itCan't imagine how an anti-corporate law movie could be about that
>>223204716Yup and DEI casting. They way they force that shit is almost funny except it's repellent.
>>223204823this. it just looks absurd. and the studio knows that, hence the shelving. Is she gorgeous, funny, dramatic, athletic, etc. so she contributes to the movie? No, she's Asian, that's the sole reason for the casting.
>>223204700Story was handled like shit with a rushed and messy ending that doesnt really make sense, but it was also genuinely hilarious, which is honestly more important. The scene where the lawyer guy walks in on Wile E Coyote and its revealed that he was just scheming the whole time made me burst out laughing, I really thought the trial was his plan, so when his actual plan was some cartoonishly retarded shit, it felt like "oh yea, this is a looney tunes movie" in the best way
>>223204700This was shelved for a reason and it shows
