>>223207938No one is interested in anything you have to say. Story, dialogue, characters can be present in the film, but only as part of an aesthetic. I mean, if you're having a dialogue scene between two characters it should be to create a feeling of characters talking, not to actually convey dialogue. We the audience are interested in our own feelings, it's your job to make us feel things, and not just anything. Not just generic terror. We are interested in specific real feelings like getting your finger slammed in a door, slipping on wet rock, or straining ears for a sound in the silence of a dark wilderness night. The narrative of your film must be built out of these feelings, then stitch together with necessary basic dialogue.

Here's an idea: this is long after a fascist takeover of the land/country/whatever, the dictator's son, still a prick, but wants to help and do something for his father's land so he forces himself to seek out indigenous animal trackers to find what is thought to be some of the last endangered of certain animals/find and bring to 'justice' poachers, or something, but on the way its revealed his family made a blood pact and says "no one in my blood line can step foot in this village", or he 'has' to go perform a ritual that has to do with his standing or power or something and the people he's with see him doing it idk feels to me like a rich world to kind of play with. Shooting it like handheld/modern day feeling but also implementing kinda older time limitations or like running concomitant. Seeking out the poachers, seeing the desecration from the new rule, the prince being an agent of that desecration essentially, but integrating himself within whats all his but unknown to him.Something about the idea of people getting out of a car and wearing modern clothes and saying "oh this is the pharoah" and even though its right now it IS the pharoah or the prince sounds really cool to me. Shooting it like you're the trail guide for a fascist sociopath, but very handsome and charming, prince with an uncertain woozy setting or time could be spooky

>>223208405Honestly for something like this you might be able to get away with soundscapes, drones and effects. Get a usb keyboard with a pitch wheel, download reaper and some vsts, make weird ambient shit. You can easily make some creepy dissonant shit by hitting random keys and holding them for different amounts of time.

>>223207938Use the DJI as a main character pov cam while they are dealing with the horror, he is out in the woods with his four friends and a puppy belonging to one of the group members. Then use the Canon to film a fake interviews for a documentary on the supernatural legends of the area and the hoaxs of said legends. (Get a couple random old people to act as historians and make fake old timey maps and illustrations and then images of glimpses of the monster/s and murder scenes etc throughout history.) Have it jump back and forth between the pov and documentary.Make the "monster" match up with current thing the documentary just mentioned. Have it change as each member of the group gets killed.Once it is down to the last guy and the puppy have the monster be revealed as just a crazy guy. The main character is stabbed and attaches the pov cam to the puppy and sents him off into the woods before he dies. The puppy eventually comes across group of teenagers changing a tire on their van. They notice the camera and go to watch the footage. Screen goes black. Then one of the girls in the group goes "Jinkies!"It was a Scooby doo prequel the whole time.
