>mocking a deadbeat mother for abandoning her son
This is truly the moment where career criminal and murderer Tony Soprano became irredeemable.
>>
He proved that Janice hadn't actually changed so this was a good scene for him

we're with the vipers
>>
a deadbeat? oh then it was was obviously justified
>>
>>223212011
I like the fan theory that Bobby's murder victim was Harpo
>>
>>223212011
This ep had the best ending music
>>
>>223212011
I don't even fucking remember what this was. There was so much boomer cringe, it's difficult to keep track of it all.
>>223212042
>Janice
Hmmmmmmmmmm... Sister Soprano? The fat ugly cunt that killed that guy for punching her in the face because she talked about his son maybe being a faggot? Then had Cypher sex with guns pointed at her head?

harpo was my favorite member of the sopranos... i think there is a harpo. if not, there should be.

by the way, you must be wary of vito's tiny gun. it's a gun, and it's tiny!

sacre bleu!
>>

Tony hates it when people change and improve because he's incapable of it.
>>
>>223212236
many such cases
>>
>>223212042
Janice had changed though and that's what pissed Tony off, before she was quick to anger over smaller stuff but getting mad over someone making fun of you for abandoning your son is actually a reasonable crashout

You just reveal your own ignorance

Janice had not fucking changed. Anyone who has known someone like her knows that they always go through ridiculous "self improvement arcs" that are just an excuse for them to act smug, superior, and enlightened for a month or two before going back to their old ways. All Tony did was call her out on her bullshit.
>>
>>223212310
If you were going to change, you couldnt do it around people like Tony anyway, just look at Chris's fate
>>
>>223212372
>t. tony
>>
>>223212236
This. Dude's a sociopathic monster by this point, and obviously will never change. I'd say by this point, he's subconsciously accepted it until the scene where he wins money non-stop at a casino in Vegas after killing Christopher and yells
>I GET IT
That's when he stops lying to himself and completely accepts that he is truly evil & that doing anything good only punishes him, and acting in his own selfish interests rewards him.

You have to understand the mind of a Tonecel: they look at pic-related as a scene where Carm looks bad. You know, in that episode where Tony just had a beautiful young girl murdered to protect his junkie “nephew”. When Carm had dream about Ade and wanted to look for her.

There’s no reasoning with a Tonecel.

Janice had only begun to employ the techniques she learned in anger management to control her emotions. It had probably been less than a week and she’s about 40 years old. Tony immediately teased her about something extremely sensitive knowing it would provoke a response. Who knows if Janice could gave controlled herself with more practice but people can seldom change patterns of behavior on a dime. This is like moving into a house that’s still being built, having the thing collapse, and then blaming the house.

>acting in his own selfish interests rewards him.
But is this really true? Things only get worse for Tony and those around him as the season continues, it doesn't seem like the universe is rewarding him for his selfish behaviour at all and just feels like he's coping

He accepts it in his mind. He murders his nephew, plays roulette, and hits the jackpot in Vegas. His epiphany in the desert is him realising that Livia was always right. It's all a big nothing.
Of course he's wrong, but sociopaths don't possess the conscience to understand why they're wrong. The cosmic justice of course being that Tony gets shot in the head at the diner.
>>
>>223212638
>Dude's a sociopathic monster by this point
He's a mafia leader who's committed countless crimes throughout a criminal career spanning decades, including multiple murders. Of course he's a sociopath. But the notion that he reached a turning point because he made fun of his sister is laughable when his entire life was spent doing much worse things on a daily basis.
>>
>>223213079
>him realising that Livia was always right. It's all a big nothing.
Tony never heard her say that though, but I guess its possible he just arrived at that conclusion on his own. Cut from the same cloth and all.
>>
>>223213236
I think he heard it through AJs grapevine.
>>
>>223213286
He doesn't learn that Livia was the one who told AJ that life is a big nothing until he's in therapy with AJ near the end. AJ was also spouting the "life is absurd" stuff to him but that was from him learning existentialism in school and before he met with Livia.

Janice literally had a woman moment and killed a guy and people still defend her lmao
>B-BUT HE WAS LE ABUSING HER
She allowed and encouraged him lmao, why can't women into accountability

Adrianna was trying to put Carmella's husband, AJ and Meadow's father, in prison, and by extension deny Carmella all the suburban comfort she loved so much.
>>
Janice seemed like she was at least trying but Tony channeled his mother and undermined her in front of everyone multiple times
