That was the movies main problem. Favraeu was so terrified that people wouldn't take the idea seriously that he completely cut out the humor altogether leafing the movie feeling soulless and awkward because there are clear moments where there should have been humor injected but instead there's just.....nothing.

Ther are these long pregnant pauses where there clearly should have been a quip or a joke but there's just dead air. All because Favraeu was being way too careful instead of going with is gut and letting humor land when its needed.
