You could also do a very loose adaptation and create a television series.tl;dr the protagonist works for a navy secret space program that travels in space and time, to the far future, where they encounter a being that destroys all life on earth in every possible future. basically a scifi story combined with a police procedural murder mystery. it is a great read and I recommend all anons give it a try.I finished it in two nights. I would have read it in one if I didn't have to sleep and work.

The last one I read was the great green blight. it has space pirates, evil plant alien slavers, and all types of pulp fun.

Asimov's Foundation series is what started with the concept of a Galactic Empire and yet we only got an adaptation of it almost 70 years after it was originally published. It didn't turn out very good but that's beside the point

You're not going to make it an action packed brain melting flick for general audiences, but it would be a decent program for nerds and people who don't need constant overstimulation. Or even an anthology show like Ray Bradbury's theater, where each episode was just one or two short stories adapted for the screen. I could see an I Robot show where each episode has a different director and a different way to attack the material, and just do what the book did. Guys show up, a robot is acting weird, they think its violating one of the three rules, only to discover that it isn't, with the exception of the final story, and the zeroth law being something a mega-computer running the worlds economy had to develop to cope and not go insane, basically that when it is responsible for MOST humans, it can't stop actions from having negative and lethal consequences, so it bends over backwards to do the least harm, and sometimes letting a few people starve meant that thousands more somewhere else could be fed. But again, I agree with you, seems like no one in this thread understands the fucking money paw.

I used to read those big sci-fi story collection novels. There was one where a guy goes on a rampage in a bulldozer across a space colony. Another where a gun shop is beamed down into a peaceful society. My memory is patchy but these would probably be good. There was another one where someone returned to Earth in the future and everyone was gay and it was illegal to be straight.
