Was Ronald Reagan a good or bad actor?
bedtime for bonzo is kino af
>>223227049he was a so-so actor in Hollywood. But he was one of the best actors in DC
>>223227096Singlehandedly ruined California.
It's said that he was a better president than he was an actor...
>>223227203How?
>>223227247He was a better union leader than actor or president. He helped organize two major show biz unions back before he became a Republican.California does that to people.
>>223227049>you know this significant multi-billion dollar plan to build missile defenses and protect us from being nuked into orbit by the commies? Let's name it after MY HECKIN' STAR WARS! YAYYYY!The most soi politician in history.
>>223227369It was called the Strategic Defense Initiative. It was the media and the democrats that named it Star Wars, in an attempt to belittle Reagan>>223227308He also changed the way political campaigns would be waged; thanks to his bringing in his hollywood friends to produce his main campaign video.
>>223227369>>223227557It doesn't matter what it was called because, reminder, SDI never fucking existed. Any money that was poured into it was straight up embezzlement because everyone around him told him "this cannot work"
>>223227049I have never seen him in a show or movie. I also have never seen him as a president. he was the retarded one right?
>>223227049he was a decent actor.Kings RowThe girl from Jones BeachBedtime for bonzoThe Killers (his last film)https://youtu.be/AEdIgoycI-M
>>223227049He was a great actor. He fooled most of the nation, even libbie states into voting for his plan to make the rich richer. And it all worked. It's still working, just with new slogans.
>>223227639They are building it right now, faggot.
>>223227266Amnesty to illegals.
>>223227932Say what you want about Reagan but for dammit can he give a speech. His Challenger speech gives me chills everytime I listen to it.https://youtu.be/Qa7icmqgsow?is=g9CARtTOKkxXwWWH
>>223228091Hitler had the gift of gab too.
>>223228091possibly the greatest piece of political propaganda occurred on the last night of the 1984 convention; but a lot of younger anons won't have seen it because it lasts 18 minutes. See the full version here:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z-ax3CUi14k> Reagan was the unchallenged candidate in 84, so the convention was more of a coronation and welcome home.> His team brings in a bunch of hollywood types to produce a promotional video. It would be written by the political types, produced by the hollywood gang, and staring Reagan as the president you all love> It was a masterful piece of manipulation. If you watch it all the way though, you'll be laughing when they want you laughing, crying when they want you crying, and feeling proud to be an American when they want you to be proud to be an American> This video is the first production to use the song "Proud to be an American"; and it became very popular at the timeOn that last night of the convention, they played the video. The networks, freaking out, kept flashing "PROMOTIONAL VIDEO" at the bottom of the screen. Just as the the video finished and the hall was crying with love of American and Ronald Reagan, he walked onto the stage.
he actually did win Minnesota in 84, they just let Mondale have his home state to be sportsmanlike
>>223230753why would they do that specifically for him?
>>223228064>my uncle was an iranian immigrant here on a student visa at the time>was about to be deported because he failed his courses during that same semester the iranian hotage crisis happened>regan swooped in and gave him a green card >he *still* votes democrat all these years laterI literally couldn't believe what I was hearing when he said it was the REGAN administration that gave him amnesty.
the situation in the US was really absolute shit in 1980 and things were a world of different by the time he left office in 89
gonald gaygun
>>223227049he plays a bedridden vet in a movie IIRC and was really good in it. he has gravitas and clearly it was authentic because he went into politics out of principle.
>>223231103>the situation in the US was really absolute shit in 1980 and things were a world of different by the time he left office in 89Hard pills for anons to swallow but it's absolutely true
>>223227049He was likable enough in the movies he did with Errol Flynn, no doubt the peak of Reagan's movie career
>>223228064Also let all the crazies out of the asylums.
>>223227049Great actor. Great man. Great president.
>>223227049his acting convinced millions of americans he was a conservative
>>223231331Court cases did that
>>223227049He was a decent enough actor, his looks got him more attention than he would have if he wasn't very handsome
>>223227049Mediocre actor, excellent goy
I watched a western with him in it (The Last Outpost I think) and he was good but unremarkable in it.I then watched The Killers and thought he gave a great performance in that.He was also very personable when I saw him on Carson.
>>223227049His "missed me" bit from that speech he was doing a couple months after he was shot was fucking badass and hilarious
Not a speech. He ad-libbed it in the hospital to his wife. "Honey I forgot to duck."
