I'm talking films like The Shadow, The Phantom, Dick Tracy, Mask of Zorro, Flash Gordon etc.

Flash Gordon was like 81. great flick, but unrelated to what you're talking about.
you could have mentioned Dark Man and The Rocketeer, also.

>>223229453
Only one of those movies wasn't fun.

Wtf are you on about? What revival?
There hasn't been anything close to those in 30 years and when there was it was mid at best

I'd say there's an argument that Keaton Batman, and The Mummy belong on this list too.

Yeah that was a mistake on my part
>>
All shit, including Burton's Batman
>>
Never saw the phantom or flas Gordon.

There was the 2nd modernized Flash Gordon cartoon in '96.
You can probably fold the entire late 90's early 00's syndication revival into that period as well along with cartoons like Phantom 2040 and Conan The Adventurer, etc.

indiana jones was the catalyst and all three movies are great.

>the shadow
should have skipped the cgi otherwise it might have been okay
>the phantom
it was never going to work but clearly a labor of love
>dick tracy
great, worth watching to this day
>rocketeer
pretty bad, disney couldn't figure out why indiana jones worked so they just jammed pieces together.
>zorro
there was a tv show and a movie and i remember nothing of either.

batman 89 had nothing to do with any of this
