Resident evil is about a protagonist surviving against a menagerie of fucked monsters, they do this with military weapons, solving puzzles and finding evidence of umbrelas influence, offen culminating in a big fight and escape at the end. So Kregger the redditor basically got all of that, subverted it, made everyone insufferable and had zero payoff or interesting arcs.

Fuck you for wasting my afternoon and fuck you for clearly running marketing against the WELL FOUNDED doubts after drips of news came out showing you were a disingenuous faggot who had no idea what he was doing. No 90s, no game characters, no themes, no story, no payoff. Fuck you.

- Umbrella causes zombie outbreak but it starts slow in Raccoon city subway system
- takes days to fully mature from rats to zombies on the subway
- STARS members are dispatched in before police get there (hint hint)
- They are trying to handle the zombie outbreak but it's out of control and police are handling the madness on the streets
- You now have your convenient claustrophobic horror setting with non-working cellphones and typical resident evil locked doors
- About half the movie takes place in this subway system, the STARS members are recalled and get out safely but instead of going back to the PD they are told to regroup at a nearby skyscraper
- This building is the "Spencer Mansion" of the movie, complete with death traps, strange monsters and all sorts of shit meant to test out bio-weapons
- Final act of the movie is them ascending the building and getting into the labs and wiping out Umbrella freaks
