>>223322089Season 1 of this was absolute dogshit on a platter, about as bad as zero kara, but at least re zero s1 had a few decent arcs like the opening arc, the arc where the mc gets his ass kicked in an arena and maybe parts of the whale hunting sequence.This show had one good arc with acceptable writing and that was the part where that little annoying tsundere bitch gets captured and they try to rescue her. It was the only part of the season that actually had some tension, drama and quality directing, the rest of the season did nothing but pander to oversaturated fanservice tropes and some arc of following around some 3 eyed husk of a character with nothing interesting happening for like 4 episodes but being subjected to stale dialogue and mediocre background art.I imagined if the adaptation of the first novel was this dull and uninteresting that everything to follow would likely only get worse. But then again what do you expect from an ln industry that follows almost to a t the same rehashed formula of drawing in a fanbase with a semi decent first novel, then going on and unloading trash writing for 20+ novels thereafter.
