JP's mother in law invites a Pizzagate conspiracy theory guy (Austin Butler) to diner who rants about wanting to help protect kids from being sexually abuse, which leads to JP's wife siding with him over her mother during an argument over they have (as the mom was shocked that Butler didn't think Covid was a conspiracy) and nearly admitting that her dad raped her repeatedly as she grew up. Desperate to bring down the mayor, especially after a public confrontation ends with Pedro humiliating JP, JP goes public with his mother in law's claim that Pedro raped her daughter/JP's wife. The wife publicly refutes the claim as bullshit, running off with Butler and effectively ending her marriage to JP and cutting all ties with her mom. And JP gets covid, or maybe not. It's left vague.
This movie made the pandemic years seem more interesting than they really were, most people just sat around inside all day

JP's ex-wife is now pregnant with Austin Butler's kid as her mom can only see her via YT videos of Butler's speeches onstage with him. The data center got built and JP got elected Mayor, though his mother-in-law is running the show using the pulpit to promote her conspiracy theory junk. The film ends with JP, trapped in a I have no mouth and I must scream hell, being abused by the live in nurse that takes care of him, being shown footage of his pregnant ex-wife and her new husband, and stuck in bed listening and watching his mother in law fucks the live in nurse, while JP gives series Metallica One "God Please Take Me Now!" eyes as he has to listen to said mother-in-law orgasm right beside him, then fall asleep with the nurse alongside him, no fucks given to what JP thinks.
