Will Petersen’s quiet intensity does such a good job of showing just how mindbroken Graham is as a result of having caught Lecter. And Brian Cox’s sneering manipulative narcissism bubbling just under a façade of normality is a much better version of Lecter than Hopkins’s.

Are you spying on me or something, literally watched it yesterday for the first timeAs a zoomer when I glimpse into the past of cinema I'm amazed every time how much work and care went into making movies instead of whatever garbage that we get now, it's like directing a movie became this alien arcane lost technology of our predecessors, some of my all time favorite kinos predate me by like 20 years at leastHowever I also recognize that it could just be that you only get to watch the actual good movies from the past while the remaining 99% is garbage that was forgotten and has no significance so you only get a cherrypicked and superficial understanding of cinema from that time, as usual the Sturgeon's law still applies, I'm also not saying that good movies aren't made today but in comparison you could be watching 10/10s and never run out of stuff to watch while today you will struggle to find anything interesting, while ironically the selection of things to watch has only increased to unprecedented levels never seen before
